NYT great example. Note how they dont source the claim. The reader is not expected to even wonder if there is a source. It's worded as if the sentence itself is the source. A curious reader would need to contact Kenneth Vogel directly.

Consider that in the context of the first hand account from the person who got fired. https://i.redd.it/wp66quhos4p31.jpg USA Today, FOX, CNN, *NBC are not sources of information. They are wings of power centers. It's

IPv4's inability to label all the things may be a feature. NAT's are like borders in some ways, and prevent fine grained censorship without larger consequences.

Ya, a reply with a pure "that's F(4)" makes the same mistake (sidestepping the subject) it's pointing out. Some rely on hijacking common sense. The slippery slope for example, I'm 95% sure it's the most common

I found this video series about soil really interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUmIdq0D6-A It's long, and I was sure I would click away, but the presenter has a great tone and the content is heka cool.

As someone who grew up before smartphones, with plenty of noise pollution, I am sure it's not the noise. People cross the street stairing at their hands.

Faith that pre-programmed cars are going to outperform humans is equivalent to predicting general AI.

It's not a solvable problem in this context. Humans are not computers, and cars have no self. The car would melt a hole in the ground and not even approach par with a cat. It's understandable that people are making this mistake in

People catching a hint of the real power they have is an existential threat to traditional myth structures; not just China's.

Thanks. I couldnt agree more. It would make sense if the bar was higher for adding control software than training pilots. To me it seems like the type cert problem was backwards.

Not stalling on takeoff is pilot 101. If an aircraft is prone to it I personally do not want layers of software hiding the issue. It's practically a law of nature that software is full of bugs.

Bad conclusion. Web browsers are written to be fingerprintable. They are deliberately anti-user. Expecting web pages to "just not" is pointless. The solution is to fix the browser.
