It'll be interesting to see if MS can stand strong on no backwards-compatibility. It seems like every time they release something new, by the time it's out of beta it's got tons of compatibility baggage added.

The theory is that cancer cells develop a protein barrier that hides their anomaly from the immune system. The polio virus is thought to damage that and the immune system thus starts to recognize them as mutated cells. For the patients in t

There are a lot of ways to do it as proved by the comments here. My personal move from freelancer to "company" was a slow transition that involved moving away from clients that nickel-n-dime and moving towards those who do not. Fo

Looking at the name of the UI components, that definitely seems to be true, as a lot of them have "ios" appended to the class name. But, even if you're writing Objective C, you might have different storyboards for the phone v

I've heard the term "write once, test everywhere!" But, since testing is actually a good thing, I think the spirit of the quote is "write once, fix glitches everywhere" I am extremely hopeful about React. Even tho

Incredible on iOS. Android support... coming soon! This seems to be the case with a lot of cross-platform development kits. One or the other of the platforms is a second-class citizen. It seems that all of us are salivating at the idea of

Agreed, frameworks are tools to be used or abused. The main problem with Joel's analogy is really that factories did not replace hammers. Hammers and factories and everything in between are always available to us.
