In fact, we’ve defaulted many times in the past, but nobody seems to care about that. The treasury secretary indeed lied through her teeth about it, as did the WH press secretary. But of course, the media talking point is to blame Republica

Any reference for that? Based on the wiki it has 128 bits of security against length extension. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHA-2

Ya, SHA384 is the way to go. By discarding some bits, the internal state isn’t public and length extension becomes impossible.

Still haven’t seen a mechanism by which we can export entropy at hypernatural rates. Which is all I’ve been asking for, in multiple sub threads. But sure, pop off on the metaphors. They truly showcase your heightened intellect. We should al

What is the mechanism by which excess energy is used to permanently sequester/export entropy?

The earth has a certain amount of energy sequestered. The sun provides a certain (constant) amount additional per year. Black body radiation emits a certain (variable, proportionate to temperature, perhaps) amount per year. Everything else

I’m asking for a mechanism by which we might export entropy. Understanding, of course, that it’s only kicking the can down the road.

I may have missed your point, was it praying to the almighty god “black body radiation”?

So you’re saying we’re doomed to an increasingly unpredictable and disorderly existence, regardless of our actions? I agree.

And does our specific position on that gradient matter, at all? Again, I’d love to hear your explanation of how we’re exporting this entropy. Black body radiation? I don’t think that’ll be enough.

Explain what about thermodynamics allows for a closed system to progress forward in time without increasing disorder please. Or are you proposing we export the disorder to outer-space? If so that’s a plan I’d love to hear.

It should be possible to allow access to all files, or allow picking a single file. The weird intermediary where I need to first select that I don’t want to allow access to all files, then select the files I do want (the single file I’m pos

Would be a lot more interesting if they got rid of the awful “select which photos the app can access” flow and just forced apps to use the system picker.

This is true. Easy verification: hold your phone still and take a photo of a tree at some distance. Go to “key photo” selection scrubber. Zoom in on leaves. Scrub. Observe the quality significantly decreases when not on the preselected posi

No, you think I know I’m right. That’s you projecting your biases onto my argument. Don’t do that, it makes for uninteresting discussions.

Ah. The non-sequitur approach to debate. Charming. If you can’t see the difference between allowing a plant to naturally spread and mass murder, I pray for those around you.

It is important, when ironically agreeing with someone, that the pseudo-agreement expresses your supposed shortcomings. Otherwise you’re just legitimately agreeing, but snarkily (and weakly).

I brought up the Juniper as an example of a species that, while native, is handled like a “weed”, and subject to expensive taxpayer funded burn-based removal efforts. This was to rebuke the claim the undereducated love to make of “native=go

Every organism alive today out-competed some “native” organism to get there, that isn’t an issue. The 2nd point is the only relevant point, and it’s weak as can be.
