I’ve done some of my own electric work and the logic isn’t dissimilar to what we do. Just way less abstract, way slower, and way simpler. I found it kind of interesting.

This. I think Amazon is doing the same thing and leaving the door open for Walmart or another player with some logistical muscle to take a bunch of the market from them. Amazon search used to be so simple. Now you sift through so many ads a

Edited to a week. I was actually shocked how quickly my in-laws got power back with how widespread the destruction was and how many of the roads are out. They have well water so as soon as power was back on they obviously have water.

At least last time I looked into starlink it most definitely cannot. Definitely more ideal for very rural or very poor areas where you are gonna be one of a few dishes. That may have changed now though.

Despite the hate on the promo the tech they offer is still pretty cool. Only way I knew my in-laws were safe near Asheville was because one of their neighbors had starlink and a generator. Took a week for them to get power and cell phone se

I just switched to Bruno because apparently if you have a secret in the “initial values” column it uploads it to their cloud automatically. It is cool so far. I like that it is more git friendly. I have noticed an increase in request time w

That makes sense. I'm thinking for awhile I am just gonna assume my coworker is right and learn how to do it right. Then make another judgement call on whether I like it.

This is really helpful and makes a lot of sense. My coworker who harps on it does have a hardcore math background so your generalization definitely holds true in my experience.

The example you gave is obviously superior for the reason you mention, but what about just one where you are mutating the objects in the given list? Isn't the for loop and an if a lot clearer than names.toStream().if(something).then().

I know Bandwidth offers a reduced leave if you have under a year of tenure and Celonis offers full leave day 1, but I wondered if there were others.

I mean, if someone is trying to get pregnant, they don’t know if it will be tomorrow or in several years. Losing your leave because you moved companies and got pregnant at the same time would be a huge bummer.

Yeah I assumed this was a camunda competitor (a bpmn workflow product), but it seems like it is not that.

If you can agree that it is objectively true that it is state funded, why are you uncomfortable with labeling it as such?

Agreed with both of you actually. I enjoy NPR and I certainly agree that it allows for both sides at times. However, it is a fact it is state funded (it is in the name) and I think it objectively leans one way (which you can verify by looki

So your argument is that it’s okay not to label it as state funded (which it most certainly is) because other media companies are? And you feel the best course of action is to continue hiding all that?

Maybe it’s a hot take (I didn’t think so until the violent reaction) but I felt the label was accurate. I like NPR a lot , but certainly the fact that liberal policymakers vote in favor of its funding affects their content. Do we really con

You can look at it this way if you want. Or you can look at it as people in rural areas and undeveloped countries are no longer slaves to the single telecom company that is out there charging them an atrocious amount of money for horrible s

If a project is going to reject a “pointless improvement” then it is gonna be tough for any new contributors to get traction in the code base.

No one is arguing that they don’t have some right to recourse. Just that booting and charging a ton of money to remove is excessive and an invasion of that person property.

This happened to a friend in Houston Tried to pay for parking and it didn’t work and when we got back it was booted An hour of illegal parking should never warrant a 160 dollar fine to remove a boot.

2 things: 1. Modern agriculture is generally better for the soil than traditional. Look up the difference between till and no till. You just can’t do no till at the scale needed to feed the world unless we all start picking weeds full time.

On top of that, pesticide application and environmental effects are the dangers of pesticide application, not human consumption. Most pesticides are just CO2 by the time they get to the shelf and ALL pesticide residues that don’t become co2
