Major bummer to see they're still using 16:9 displays, even when the lower bezel area could easily accommodate a 16:10 display. I am however very pleased to see Lenovo embracing AMD in their high end products.

Plants are much easier to recycle as well.

That's very clearly because you don't open it very often. This is a once a month "issue".

Could you use one of these to cool your house and heat your outdoor pool?

The website, sure.

There's a bit of a gamble that your planes will crash though.

I don’t see why if they’re clearly indicated as clones.

by jagger27 7y ago
Couldn’t museums and other art holders create their own authenticated market of accurate clones by giving copiers access?

This is accurate. My university has silent floors, "quiet floors" (rarely enforced), and a few well used open collaboration areas with movable furniture.

I’m a big fan of Rare Seeds as well. I got a big order from them early this year.

Yes, I'll also be directly sowing radishes, beets, and climbing green beans. I hoping for multiple crops of greens throughout the year. I will say though that my peppers and tomatoes were probably started a little early for my zone. So

Thanks for the kind words! I do, jcdl.net. Only one post on there ranting about ThinkPads though. I never thought to use egg cartons, what a good idea.

Heat and consistent moisture. I keep some of my seedlings under grow lights in my furnace room beside my servers. Plastic seed trays with clear tops are excellent to reduce evaporation. Electric heat mats are awesome to stick under seed tra

I'd be happy to! Tomatoes are super forgiving and are a great place to start. The easiest thing is to pick up a seed packet at a garden supply store. I buy most of mine online or from Stokes. Drying out seeds is fairly easy, but seed p

Got a butternut squash in your pantry? Maybe a couple of tomatoes? Cook it up for dinner and save some seeds! Wash off the pulp and dry them out on a paper towel. It's not too late to start some seedlings, and it's a nice way to p

I can't imagine it's terribly likely, but imagine if you infected your outdoor cat, which then infected other neighbourhood cats, which then infected people who were otherwise isolating themselves?

A commenter in that thread indicates it’s just the swabs being used, which makes much more sense to me.

The big benefit of this generation is that with almost no porting effort PS4 and Xbox One games will run as they should given how much better Zen 2 and RDNA2 are than Jaguar and GCN.

What about it?

by jagger27 7y ago
Yes, they could have gone with the i7-9700 trading 6c/12t for 8c/8t. There's also the question of power, which despite both being marketed as 65W parts do not have the same thermals. Maybe the i9-9900T would have worked?

A good value trade in program would have been nice. I managed to sell my 2017 15” for a bit under $2000 CAD to upgrade to the current 16”. I would have rather dealt with Apple than deal with hagglers and low ballers.

Oh wow that’d be really cool. You could pretty much consider that to be L4 cache.

That’s a fair assessment and is probably why they’ve launched their high core count CPUs and $400 range GPUs in this order. I’m more than happy with my 2700X but I wish I didn’t jump on the 5700 XT. It’s too loud and hot.

Only up to 6-core 8th generation CPUs, and it looks like the base 6-core SKU is the i5-8500, which doesn’t have Hyperthreading. Ouch. It’s such a shame that’s the best Intel can do in that thermal envelope. AMD is about to ship Ryzen 4000 m

The barrier of entry for a company like System76 to make a mechanical keyboard is suuuuuper low. Just look at the Code keyboard, WASDKeyboards, or even a company like Razer (they've been at it for a long time). Lots of enthusiasts like
