I mostly know Typescript, but I'd like to learn more about Dart... particularly where the type system differs in theory. Do you have a good recommended article on that? The other question is the community one: if Dart requires type bin

All I want is typesafe efficient higher order list operations like map, filter, reduce, flatmap, zip, takeUntil, etc. I don't care if Go puts them into the stdlib and only allows these operators to use special internal generics to oper

Doesn't open source just mean you have access to read and modify the software? It's the stronger term Libre that implies that you grant all distribution/selling rights to the public.

Could it also be post NDE behavior modification? Maybe it's an evolutionary system to try to expand the host's perspective, as maybe the NDE may have been the result of poor actions of the host.

Is it just me or has Amsterdam/Netherlands been on Hacker News (and other outlets) more and more... almost feels like a weekly occurrence now. I've visited Netherlands last year and was fully impressed with their entire culture

That's a fair point, but I'm thinking of this more in principle. Is it a good direction for platforms to reduce toxic behavior by imposing more communication limitations and providing topic/group isolation systems?

I really really like mobx-state-tree (which is way different from just mobx). I'm not sure where I'd use the Context API over MST, but I'm currently toying with comparing both. Offhand, MST seems to be friendlier to Typescrip

There's two issues I'm concerned about. As you mentioned, one is yanking retweets because 'it can be used for ill'. I doubt that would make any real difference in toxic behavior, but would hurt positive commentary more.

Just asking, why not just use a wiki-style note taking app instead?

How is it better than orgmode? Which would be better for note taking?

So you still use Leo or managed to switch to orgmode? I haven't used either, but have contemplating it. Currently, I'm using CherryTree, which is just okay.

A weird amount of gaslighting and over/under victimization going on in this thread. Everything is relative to the experience, but the one real truth is how someone feels about the experience. He doesn't overly blame the offices or

Blender 2.8 Eevee is reducing rendering by factor of 100, with a modest reduction of quality. It's basically using game rendering techniques, but instead of catering to realtime, it'll take a couple seconds to produce a frame. It&

I don't think it's a good idea to popularize a conspiracy theory by covering it, just as much as the media showcases school shootings. This is EXACTLY what the authors wants... mass media appeal in order to attract more followers.

While a huge pain the ass, it could be possible for your local app server to create a [bridged] virtual host network that routes locally for your server. It utterly ridiculous to resort to this method though. Does anyone else have an idea o

Simple idea, and yet useful for those that need a dashboard to manage the day to day expenses that people generally not find the time to do otherwise.

I've been using Haxe over a decade, and it's really a shame it doesn't get more attention. The language is amazingly productive for game development, although lacking the GUI tools of Unity.

It's a little sad to hear that this wasn't considered part of MS core effort for the 2.1 rollout. I think the challenge is C# is viewed as 'good enough' with incremental language improvements, while F# gets dragged behin

mobx-state-tree is really neat and feels like the next step beyond redux. Not having to create explicit event names and 'action dispatchers' is a real boon to DRY. The only issue I've had is more to do with typescript and usi
