Most "actual history" is closer to fiction/myth than we want to believe. Dan Carlin is usually up front about this.

Ah, good point. I'll update it so it's more clear. Registration is open until the competition starts. No limits on registrations :)

I'm not sure why everyone is so gung-ho for a big tower. I want expandability, but with Thunderbolt3, you can add now external GPUs, fast external drives, and (almost) anything else. And you then don't have to worry about the thin

Did you read the article? NY state has cracked down on Airbnb hosts (as a result of hotel industry lobbying) to the point where most people don't even bother. So what's left is overpriced and poor quality.

AirBnb is not great with refunds. My experience: rented a room in South San Jose for a week. After coming back from dinner, the apartment building was surrounded by police and I wasnt able to get back in so I had to get a hotel instead. Aft

I'm currently using these Electron Apps every day: Slack, Nylas, VSCode, Insomonia, Freeter, Mongobooster On a 2015 macbook pro with 16GB of RAM. The buggiest and most resource intensive apps I use tend to be the native ones (iTunes, D

I think those royalty payments are more of a silver lining to Microsoft's complete failure to capture any mobile market share. Google is still the "platform holder" and has the biggest advantage of Android's dominance.

Exactly the app I was looking for, purchased within 15min of playing with it. When context switching between multiple projects, it's amazing to be able to create a "space" for each one.

I believe gamers who spend that kind of money on a graphics card do it more for cultural than functional reasons. It's like buying a car model upgrade, that has little practical value, aside from showing off that you could afford it. I

One argument -- 2 sided marketplaces are a pretty decent barrier to entry. Craigslist, eBay, etc benefit from this. They have both sellers and buyers in the same place. Starting an Uber from scratch -- who would drive for it when there'

Strangely (and sadly), I think people (including me) would be more outraged if their nutrition guidelines were off base. IIFYM and all.

Subway is the unfortunate choice for when I'm drunk enough to eat, but not too drunk enough to not care about how fat I get. DNA pizza is for the rest of the time.

As someone who eats these fake chicken sandwiches occasionally, cant say I'm surprised. I always assumed these things were the equivalent of chicken hot dog patties or something. Don't know why people eat these things... oh ya --

After wasting money on 2 other VR desktop apps, I was shocked that Bigscreen was free and 10x better than the other ones. Hope they can put the investment to good use. I'm definitely not opposed to paying them when the final version is

The trick is opening the search result link in an incognito window (if you're using Chrome). It's a pretty nutty loophole, surprised it's gone on as long as it has.

You may have stumbled upon a solution here. Make it legal to ask the question, but also make it legal to lie about the answer (including doctoring paystubs, etc). Seems like a uniquely libertarian solution.

I like Google Keep as well, but I can only really use it for "simple" notes that I take while mobile. The lack of any kind of formatting system is a detriment I think. Also, the UI on desktop is pretty poor. A native mac app would

This seems like a great move to me. I started using a 2016 Razer Stealth, and the worst thing about it is the Synaptics Touch crapware they include to configure the touch pad.
