Yep, this drives me crazy. Finally found a solution (Request Desktop Site) but it's incredibly buried. Shocked that content providers arent suing over this. Google removes all ads (which as a user I like), and any links to the content

Your comment seemed absolutely bonkers to me until I thought: what if I could still use my 2015 macbook pro in 2023 and be happy. That would be awesome, though unlikely since nothing on my laptop is user servicable.

I would have said the same thing about OSX a decade ago. I wish someone would throw a lot of money at it. Apple has money but OSX keeps getting worse.

I agree. The age of hardware performance gains papering over software optimizations is definitely over. The developer world has to get used to it. People also run a lot of code that "compiles" (not strictly converting to binary).

This is supposedly the Pro model. Until my video processing and compile times are instantaneous, there's always room for performance increases. Phil Schiller specially blamed RAM battery drain for it being limited to 16GB. http:/

Come on, are we really blaming the RAM for battery life? Apple chose to put a much smaller battery in this model (75 watt) compared to last year (100 watt) for the purpose of thinness. Find me a single review that laments the thickness and

PC Laptop world is actually really competitive. Check out Razer, Alienware, Yoga line, and Microsoft Surface. They're innovating like crazy. Touch screens, OLED displays, external GPUs, different form factors, VR capable performance, e

Agreed. But if you call anyone who disagrees with you on economic policy a racist and sexist, it opens the door for an actual racist and sexist to get in.

I bought a Mac Pro in 2013 (the entry level model) and have been using it reliably for about 3 years. With two 27 inch lcds, and a thunderbolt external drive, it's been solid development machine. I can also boot an external windows dri

That assumes everyone cares about weight / thinness over of system performance. Apple no longer gives users an option to choice their preference.

Verizon seems to think it's a better investment to spend money on ads saying their network is good, than actually spending money on making the network good.

While that's generally been true since the late 90s, when Marissa Mayer took over Yahoo did have quite the honeymoon period. Yahoo genuinely became "cool" for at least a year or 2, and everyone was glowing about Mayer being o

I love the promise of Ember too. But if you look at the stats, along with Angular & Backbone it has pretty terrible satisfaction ratings. And in my personal experience, it also has some of the worst word of mouth of any JS frameworks. W

Thanks! I agree about the lack of public comments being a big mistake. We should have just thrown Disqus in there to get it started. We tried to do a weird, more complicated feedback feature and it didn't really work out.
