Surprised NOOK doesn't show up on that chart at all. I thought their sales were strong enough to be in the top several.

You could improve your icon. The game has such interesting shapes but the icon is just one plain shape. Making the icon one or more of the more interesting shapes would catch attention. Also, to me those diagonal lines somehow make it feel

I was disappointed too. It's a glorified bookmark manager. I'd have thought it would at least give me csv and rtf locally or an XML format.

I laughed out loud at this. Faculty can run good research programs and be decent teachers but if they're only measured on research grant dollars, completed graduate degrees, and publications, why spend any extra effort on teaching undergrad

I don't really understand the structure of the different departments teaching computer science and engineering at UF, but it certainly sounds like a bit of a mess and over-due for a reorganization. Even Georgia Tech, the first school with a

I don't think GT has any real effect on UF. Different states, different budgets, and really, a different level. UF is the big public engineering school in the state. Every other public university in the state is always fighting for the budg

The "brand new" university mentioned is horrible journalism. The "Florida Polytechnic University" has been around for 24 years. It's been part of USF (Tampa) until now, when J.D. Alexander strong-armed it away from USF (threating USF's fund

When I was doing a lot of Windows development and upgrading laptops a lot, I reached the point that I just imaged a laptop to a VMWare image. I could copy that image back and forth anywhere I needed to work - home desktop, work laptop, work

Well, how many iPad apps were available on the iTunes store 6 months before the iPad was released? It's not due to a lack of developers. Microsoft developer evangelists and MVPs are out on the road holding Windows 8 developer camps. We had

This is the app story that all my Windows Phone friends talk about as "a success story". It's really "the success story", as it's the top downloaded free game (except for XBox Live Extras). I wonder what the revenue numbers for the top free

It's amazing that most bosses don't realize / don't care about the reaction they'll get from sending a meeting invite like that. That's not a sign that you're working for an A player.

I sure wouldn't say fertile, but there's a growing bit of support there for tech startups. UF is generally the big engineering school in Florida, though USF (Tampa) and UCF (Orlando) have gained on it. They're big state schools grinding out

Computer Science programs have many different roots. I think the most common is for them to grow out of Electrical Engineering departments where they end up tightly coupled with Computer Engineering, lots of hardware emphasis, etc. But they

The most amazing thing about this to me is that both of my kids (8 and 12) will probably know all about this by the end of the week. They and a lot of their friends are absolutely glued to everything Notch and Mojang says. I've seen my 8 ye

There are a number of call recorders on Android. I used vRecorder for quite a while. Sometimes (often?) they only record what the microphone hears, so the caller on the line's voice can be pretty low.

I don't think any of the bosses I've ever had would realize that there's a difference. Maybe 1 in 100 would even think to find out why the letter is different. I would probably notice and there's a slim chance I'd ask what's different about
