That's nothing. I made a webserver with just two keystrokes: control-C, control-V. You do have to have Apache installed though.

I've thought about it a few times, but there are too many people that would take offense, even if I changed names and details, that I might still need to go work with. The longer I'm out of that industry and running my own startup

Oh, this VP was full of crap, and borderline abusive of his staff. But it leads to great stories.

I'd say that a coupon code box runs a distant third behind surprise high shipping rates and sites I've never heard of that don't accept third-party payment sites and instead want my credit card info. Nope.

I've abandoned a couple purchases because of that coupon code box. I go search for one and realize that they do regular promotions so I wait for one, usually to never come back and make a purchase.

I think anyone that survived the dotcom boom and crash has stories like this. Pud's F-ed Company was full of them. We had the meeting where only half the company was invited and the half that wasn't invited was let go. We had the

Sounds very familiar. You've trained your whole life for working slightly hard for short periods of time and getting enough done to keep up. The only way I've seen to fight that is to do things that can't be mastered quickly:

Vaguely related but we had a customer using some feature that split text blobs using a record separator. One time someone wanted to not split at all and set separator="none" without bothering to look up how to actually turn off re

He should look at the name on the Klaus building and realize that we'd actually heard of startups in the early 1990s and before. The ATDC has even been around for 33 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Klaus

One that's not quite on their list is boardgames. B&N is pushing more of those for the higher margin, but they do little to nothing to get gamers into the store. They should be the ones partnering with Tabletop, not Target. Sponsor

Older Macs won't support the latest OSX and XCode. I'd look at MacinCloud or something similar if you have good bandwidth. $50 / month for 24x7 online access to a Mac isn't bad at all and they have pay-as-you-go for abou

How do you configure the wifi settings? Connect it to a laptop/desktop with USB first? It's own adhoc network for configuration? That's one thing that will hold it back for non-techies.

Not much of a case study or explanation. If your transaction process isn't smooth and simple, it won't work well on mobile. We do okay with affiliate links to apps on iTunes and I suspect we could do great with Amazon affiliate li

"They" being someone that posted an image on bittorrent? Apple doesn't license OS X for VMWare anywhere except Apple hardware. You can't even run a 10.8 guest on a 10.7 host per their license, which is really annoying.
