Yep, thought of that article when I made the comment. If the appeal is limited to a particular generation, that's bad news. The person who showed me how to use it doesn't really use it anymore. Anecdotally, that tells me people gr

There doesn't seem to be a clear reason to use Snapchat if you don't already know people on it. I found the app itself so confusing, I needed someone to explain to me how to use it and what the point of it was. That is a UI smell

Lititz is by no means 'an amish town'. It was founded by Moravians. Its more suburban than rural. Interesting note: The owner of Tait Towers owns a home that looks like a castle on top of a hill.

macOS has gone down hill since it heyday in the 2000s, very noticeably so since it became known as 'macOS'. For a long time, it was the best nix you could run. The horror stories surrounding High Sierra might finally break my bad

You've hit on a very sore spot for Clojure developers. From a practical standpoint, there is a lot more work out there for Python programmers than for Clojure programmers. The need for Python developers in the workplace is also more br

I've had this idea to find a way to connect landscapers and homeowners to people seeking to buy yard waste for use in various composts and mulches. What gave me this idea was that I had a tree cut down and chipped in my neighborhood. B

Really? Which libraries? Did you try using leinengen? One of the strengths of Clojure imo is how well everything JUST works as opposed to python, ruby, etc.

It also uses fewer parens than other lisps. Clojure let statement (let [foo "bar" baz "qux"] foo) => "bar" Scheme (let ((foo "bar") (baz "qux")) foo) "bar" So in addition to add

I second the statement about ClojureScript. It makes developing in Javascript so much nicer and cleaner. With so much work these days being "full-stack", the combination of Clojure/Clojurescript is Clojure's killer featu

Wouldn't surprise me at all if government was born from coercion of the individual to the needs of the state.. it is after all the definition of government.

Due to government involvement, there is a lack of a true market pressure when student loans are underwritten. Not surprising in the least that this bubble is starting to pop.

Yah I LOL'd out that one. A year from now we'll be reading the postmortem of the problems the Gutenberg team has faced swapping out React for another library and how things still aren't quite what they used to be.

Protein folding researchers typically use monte carlo and gradient descent methods. It makes sense to look to machine learning to expand the available toolsets for determining protein structure.

This theory reminds me a lot of the folding funnel. It used to be thought of as a paradox that a protein could fold in mere minutes if it needed to explore each possible configuration before arranging into its "correct" configurat
