Compression algorithms are an economization/compression of space(bits and bytes). ML models, especially generative models are an economization/compression of human expression and thought. Text classification is a type of compres

I would like to take a parallel view to the BitterLesson and how its playing out. There are exceptions. Its not only computation but also a mix of: 1. decades of theoretical breakthroughs coming together. 2. there is also collective human

My point was that the culture of system design interviews is not a good one. Its repeated to infinity at many companies. > I had better results in asking questions that bias towards a certain set of behavior traits I am curious. What do

This is not how people learn. And I always found these books more useful after I have actually worked on a system than before. Do you know why people ask such questions at any company? Its because there is a rubrick at every company and 1&#

I wonder if one could create a simple API to take a 2 usernames and let them post as an anonymous user that they got it given the API could validate the primary user name.

I don't know about ML but if you want to learn applied stats I would look up andrew gelman's or one of the newer books on Bayesian Inference ones using Stan and do them cover to cover.

4. Models are taught like an end, but courses don't teach you to mix them for debugging. They are usually a means to an end for example say you are using decision trees and your models are acting up, you could still try some debugging

I think the way courses are taught can give you some needed grounding, like you should always take a good linear regression class. But I think that is as far as it gets you, a theoretical base. Honestly the issue is that most ML programs ar

I mean I am not blind, there are plenty of no code platforms that work on B2B space. But nothing in the B2C for general purpose domain that do this in a privacy safe manner, at least not one that will shake up the tech companies.
