Well the data has to come from somewhere right? If the goal is to facilitate client-side (bring your own data) scenarios, I'd make a proper native desktop app and take full advantage of the system. A hybrid something running in the br

It feels very impractical indeed. Also the size of the binary to load the compiled wasm. All this would be much better done on the server and if really needed, users may be given a way to download results (ideally with their own preferred t

Not at all, I was agreeing with you. It's spot on. I myself have posted the occasional reaction as well, but for example, the "whatabout" folks leave one to wonder if it's some kind of karma tactic or are they really ask

Indeed, the entire app store review is just a facade for Apple's market grabbing practices. I'm more than happy the EU is taking steps to address this. I really wish folks in the US would step back for a second and stop defending

Add to that the fact that the App Store only supports certain kinds of payment and subscription formats. Paid major upgrades, volume discounts for apps with IAPs or subscriptions , etc. - not possible at all. Apple's restrictions are s

Conspiracy theory much? The DMA wants Apple to allow 3rd party developers to offer alternative services, the ones it provides. Like choosing your own browser, music app, assistant and others.

The wind of the DMA blowing all across the ecosystem. You have to admit, it's pretty cool. It only took Apple, what, 8 years since AirPods were introduced? As a developer, I'm eager to discover all new APIs we're magically (f

I know right? The DMA resonates closely with what Apple supposedly highlights as their values. It seems they’re not so good after all. For one, I’m happy about Apple Intelligence, like Microsoft Recall it felt kind of creepy.

I will be more than happy to get additional alternatives. Apple is big here, but not as dominant as it is in the US. It won’t be a big deal for folks to skip an upgrade cycle or turn to Samsung, Fairphone and others.

And yet it doesn’t seem to be a problem for Samsung and others (who already released similar features in their previous generation devices).

Apple throwing a tantrum like this doesn’t seem like a winning strategy. It’s a giant finger for devs and consumers in Europe.

All while corps and “non profits” spend a lot of someone’s money to lobby politicians and policy makers… Trying to separate tech from politics or “real life” is not possible.
