I still don't understand why we see lower birth rates as a problem when overall the population of the planet is still increasing. There are actual and a lot more impactful sustainability issues to address but how many children people a

As a developer for apple platforms, it's extremely difficult to keep a positive mindset to all this. Year after year, Apple finds ways to continue unbounded fuckery. Making apps for iPhones is not that profitable anymore either, at thi

And yet, Greece recovered to become a leading economy in the region. The propaganda is strong on the airwaves these days, just like in the US, one shouldn’t react to “facts” taken out of context. It seems (from here), support for Russia is

Nice. It’s amazing to see the progress Bulgarians have made in the last 20 years after joining the EU. I can imagine it hasn’t been an easy process.

I think having to codify "obscenity" so deep into the law to even make it become an exception to free speech is an indicator of a bigger problem. I know the US is generally a lot more conservative about this, but it really feels l

True, but for many, even “local only” apps store their data on devices managed by US-based companies. Would Apple sell your data to advertisers? - probably not. Would Apple share your data with law enforcement? - of course, and they don’t e

At this point, why anyone would opt to buy a Tesla is beyond my understanding. The fact that regulation is lacking to such an extent as to allow Tesla to wait for airbag deployment for something to count as a crash is kind of sad.

It seems a happy coincidence the exploit wasn’t that effective on iOS. There are legitimate reasons for all the technologies involved to exist, but thanks to Meta we can’t have nice things.

But did they write the backend from scratch or was it based on a number of “com.apple.libs.backend-core…” that tend to bring in repeating logic and facilities they have in all their servers? Or was it a PoC they promoted to MVP and now they

I believe F-Droid is doing quite ok. So is the Galaxy Store. On iOS, Apple created a very complicated process which is region and even country-specific. Hopefully this will change once the EU, the US, Japan and everyone else currently suing

I think MCP’s popularity is a side effect of the hype bubble driving AI atm - one of the fancy things one can do with AI. If there was any “easy” value in making one’s data available in a standard form, we would’ve seen a lot more adoption
