Declarative layouting is in fashion, which works well with scene graphs. GUI frameworks have usually been tied to inheritance-based object oriented systems.

It's funny how Concepts are not mentioned at all. Given that they are the C++ equivalent of type classes and a common example is the "EqualityConstraint", I can't believe there isn't some interplay. Concepts are als

To enforce correctness, you'd need to demand proofs. I think the most common approach for this is dependent types. I think you'll have to wait another 20 years before they become mainstream.

This is so overkill. What if I am just moving and reporting my new address? What if I am 20 years old and never had any income?

Well, that page doesn't render correctly in Firefox, so I wouldn't say it is implemented by "browsers".

That's such a vague statement. The cost of living is way higher than Mexico City, Cairo, Mumbai or New Delhi. I know they don't have the same kind of public transport, but it just seems absurd to me to call the cost of living &quo

It's common practise. It's how web pages commonly work for the last 15 years. Do you prefer Gopher over HTTP/HTML as well? I actually do. This page lives in some in-between universe where all users have their own client side

If you are not online, you can't receive or send at all (this is why I said "Another disadvantage") The channel state appears on the blockchain once either party closes the channel.

The downside is that there is no market for watchtowers yet (so you need be online while having channels open). Another disadvantage is that if you control your key, you must be online. Like, if you run an HTTP server, you must have a machi

Semantic is in Haskell, but since it doesn't use GHC, it cannot handle Haskell well (can't e.g. resolve type classes). If I wanted good code reviewing with Haskell, I figure it would be best to translate HIE files ( https:/&#

The Raspberry Pi is so powerful, you don't feel the process isolation in practice. If Xorg is sucking too many resources, you can use KMS/DRM directly. If you insist on having no protection, you can build your code as a kernel mod

You can prove a merge sort correct with dependent types. However, a typed implementation of merge sort will arguably be more difficult to mold into a TimSort if it isn't dependently typed. What you say?
