A quote from wikipedia: "in May 2012, Google announced that the service (which was also immediately renamed Google Shopping) would shift in late-2012 to a paid model where merchants would have to pay the company in order to list their produ

I'm a little confused about their release strategy. Perhaps someone can explain it to me. They took their repositories private to secretly develop the bug fix. Then they released the fixed versions along with what seem to be enough detail

Despite harsh words from players and critics alike, EA has stayed true to their guiding principle: "No refunds".

In my world, plates are stacked on top of each other prior to use. Cleaning both sides is a good idea.

I agree, and would've preferred "How your productivity is determined by what you eat" "The science behind" is a convoluted way of saying "how".

I must've spent 30 seconds trying to parse the title. The science behind how (your productivity is chosen by what you eat) not (The science behind how your productivity) is (chosen by what you eat)

I've seen suspicious craigslist ads in the past. Many bikes photographed in the same spot. Poor-quality photographs (blurry, etc.) that make it difficult to pick out distinguishing marks. Very little detail about the bike's components. No

It's more nuanced than "it looks better in his opinion". Typewriters used monospaced fonts. The old consensus on the "two spaces" rule came about because it made things easier to read on typewriters. Source code editors are also monospace

Late to the party, but... you really couldn't find a question in there? Let me try again. My definition of "responsible" doesn't matter. I was suggesting that the government could adopt a policy it considers responsible, rather than jus

It did seem half-aimed at children. Especially after the corny opening to introduce one of the Defcon Kids ("help grandpa find his arrow keys", or whatever he was going for). Right. Defcon Kids. An actual con within DEFCON sponsored by t

I really don't understand the "tomatoes and booing" plan. At the panel in the room immediately before the director of the NSA spoke ( https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-20/dc-20-speakers.html#DA ), the point was made that cops, prosecutor

Even if they weren't scripted, they were mostly softballs, and the talk was more an introduction than a detailed roadmap. The most interesting question was about whether the NSA would prefer a perfectly secure internet or a usefully insecur

Thanks, I'd seen so many language bindings for imlib2 (and, yes, gd) that I'd assumed it was an active project, but you're right that it's not. Also gd does a lot more than it used to. Thanks for the correction!

Just curious, is there a reason you chose GD over imlib2? I've used both and I think I prefer imlib2 for flexibility and breadth, and there's already at least one imlib2 binding for PHP: http://pp.siedziba.pl/

I really appreciated the slides, and they have a direct impact on my current C++ side project. I breezed through the bits that were not about C or C++, but here's what I took away: 1) Add "-Wall -Wextra -Weffc++" and fix the problems found

I'm curious -- I still buy Chobani and I still prefer it, but I've had what I consider to be a disappointing spoilage rate for unexpired yogurt (estimating 3-5%, for something I eat most days). Has anyone else had a similar experience? I

From what I can tell, it does nothing to raise the "obvious" bar, especially where companies take every patent over the last 50 years and append "on the Internet" or "on a tablet" to them. It also doesn't obviate the need for huge patent ar

I think the idea is simply that, since inflation is a compounding process, given a constant rate of inflation prices will form an exponential graph. A log scale would let you see more detail in the 90s, but in this case I think I actually p
