If you are rutinely making $500M SoCs, you can benefit yourself too of the automation/process improvement (as an established actor).

Absolutely. strncpy is a very badly designed interface. Is it documented? Yes. Does that make it any good? No. Principle of least surprise. Idiot proof. Semantics that match common usage. Call it what you like.

Yes, I dont like the strncpy interface, it is very error prone. I just gave it as a posibility. But I did refer to the man page and said "various truncation semantics" because of that, precisely, without going into more detail tho

It is wrong in many ways. It copies s and then t to a fixed size buffer, without any checks. That will write to invalid memory (probably smashing the stack) if len(s), len(t) or len(s) + len(t) > 100. It returns a stack allocated buffer

That was exactly my first thought. Do we just assume javascript this days? Not even a title or two liner of what is going on.

Edit: I'm happy to be wrong. It seems the cross-domain checks dont allow this. I missunderstood stuff on the article/thread. I want to say a few things regarding "insecurtity" of localhost. I find it completely insane an

You can use nc (netcat). If you have a 10G ethernet you will not saturate it because you will be limited by disk IO (I get 1Gb/s disk reads for a M.2 SSD). I you can read from disk faster, netcat alone will not saturate a 10G link, pro

What amazes me is that they do not test this extremely specific uarch code when a new uarch is released. On the other hand, I think the hack is not in using the pause instruction itself, but that crazy backoff algo. For example Linux uses p

Absolutely. But is unexpected for me at least. But thinking of it, maybe you can log everything and if something bad happens you can blame the origin IP who ever that is. You can also ratelimit the outbound conections to avoid abuses etc. I

Ok. One question that bothers me. Why repl.it and company permit internet access through their sandboxes? How is that not restricted? I can just annonymously run stuff and use them as a proxy. That is a big no-no in my book, but I must be m
