But as others have said those apis usually come out of defacto standards that people adopt. Probably adopting an apple library likely with patents and copyright issues is not even an option. But maybe it triggers new ideas and reactions on people on other OSes. Implementing this (similar functionality) API on Linux on top of libuv/libevent and gnutls + multipath tcp shouldnt be much work. Well, maybe multipath tcp is problematic, I dont know details there.
