From what I read, "rails doesn't scale" is really a misnomer, because there are number of things that can be done to scale rails. I think Haiping Zhao of Facebook made it clear, that it's really just an efficiency problem. Bottom line, rail

I think most people use the ipad to view content or play games. see: http://mashable.com/2010/07/08/ipad-usage-report/ It not so much about lugging a computer around, but using the ipad while you're on the move. The Ipad is so much easie

The tech/work behind Avatar is far more expensive then Toy Story. There are plenty of poor quality animation that pop up in films by major studios. And there are a number of quality cg animation by students for example http://vimeo.com/147

The argument is simple, not thin. Instead of spending billions on new R&D, new innovation, these companies have to spend money on the shenanigans of the current software patent system.

You don't get the "prosumer/pro-but-non-top-10-blockbuster-movie-editors" without being in the pro apps business. Moreover their pro apps fit the focus of the company, a high end creative company. It's hard to market pro apps to aspiring pr

Everything is a remix, but I'm not comparing game quality, just popularity. One thing is obvious both companies made very popular games on Apple's platform. Once could easily argue that Apple made more money directly from Popcap, there was

Apple purchased Emagic for their 3rd party software and skill. They bought "a killer 3rd party app". They did this because they did not have much in house talent working music production software. Since then Apple philosophy is to develop a

I don't think repurposing your design is a good way to get ux/design job. You'll need a custom design to fit like a glove, see loren's " I want to work for Airbnb ". The template monster thing is a problem. Second your site feels too much
