Who said they're storing passwords in plain text? They could be paranoid enough to remove hashed passwords. If you know what makes the hash you can reproduce. If it's a database with financial information, I can see crackers devoting time t

As a non-english speaker, I actually Googled for "hangoutable" because I didn't know what it means and mentions of Sponty came on top :p On the site itself: - I have no idea how you're eco-friendly (sorry, the leaf conjures this emotion) -

If you can't find where to draw the line now, you can put the cap later but don't charge the existing free users. Example: I have a very old cellphone plan. It's not available for new carrier costumers. But the carrier never asked me to cha

No. One or two combinations here and there aren't enough to flag your site as adult. I don't have any proof of this, by the way. But I think it's common sense, or the way I would flag a site as adult. If it has images of nude people, if the

I think the original article misguided some people. It all looked very simple, update the code and put it in production. That _is a horrible idea_, as some have noted. What's not horrible is having thousands of tests, on dozen of machines,

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Yahoo search results on a Google webpage were considered more relevant than Google search results on the Yahoo webpage! Google is a brand. Some people automatically think it's better.

It's not even the results for some people, but Google itself. I've seen studies where the researchers show Yahoo results on Google's template, and vice-versa, and people still thought that Google had better results. Google is a brand nowada

Ok... but why are you being so ironic and offensive? Was I a jerk? I am being nice to you, and disagreeing in good terms. No need to treat me like that. I was going to craft another response to you, but really, you're demotivating me with y

On reddit some people made comments similar to yours, to which some other people replied that the author knows FP languages, and Erlang, and all this stuff. Really, read his other blog posts :) He's probably more comfortable with "puzzle la

Can we please stop with the one-liners article summaries? Pretty please?... I've read the thing, summaries just waste screen space and my time... What happened anyway in the last week that this is becoming so popular?

You sound like my boss ;) Here's my beef against him: Lack of trust. If he says to me: "Do X", then expect me to do it. If hours have passed and I still haven't done, and I didn't ask for help, then something is wrong with me. I have a task
