I don't recall Windows 95 spatially minimizing windows into the bottom of the screen while preserving their dynamically updating contents. Did it? Or was it full of identical grey rectangles and moved window contents just by their outl

I've been able to cross-compile from Linux (in Docker on my Mac; things didn't work well on macOS) to make binaries that run on the 386 under ELKS. Just had to juggle a few stock games to grab a couple dozen KB on the floppy to ma

I had tried to get some version of Linux running on my 386SX / 25MHz / 8MB RAM but only succeeded in getting BasicLinux[1] running bootstrapped from a DOS boot first. Somehow I had never found ELKS! But I was just able to triviall

I took this same approach when I repaired a 386 damaged by a Varta battery. After fixing some motherboard traces, I installed a Velcro’s 3xAAA battery holder in my case for the same effect. https://justinmiller.io/posts&#x2F

I don’t use the person tracking very often except on group vacations, but I track a vehicle with an AirTag after a car theft for a little peace of mind (along with other preventative measures). Every now and then it’s handy for my own devic

I remember asking adults about this when I was probably seven years old. Once I learned that tires wore down, eventually smooth, it made sense to me that the material had to go somewhere. No one really had much of a good answer as to where

Barring some existing condition, it feels to me that _needing_ to spend that long on the toilet is a major diet and exercise red flag already.

I should point out: pancreatic cancer is not a death sentence, but the prognosis is generally very bad. I lost my wife, who was half Bill's age, to the disease.
