I felt similar things with the original Oculus Rift DK1 prototype. There was something magical when the pixel resolution was lower, your mind had to do more work and it somehow felt more immersive due to this.. At least in my eyes, might pr

Kudos to being honest about your previous silly ideas. Meditation has been the most life changing thing for me, the only thing that without any external tools has been able to silence my mind. Had to learn to meditate when working at a mobi

I used to have that feeling too. Getting out of the work loop was the best thing I did, luckily in Finland it was possible due to the support system here, so I was not left all on my own. On that time, worked on my own software and passions

Well, this-case-has-the-problem-of-mixing-with-the-letters-more-easily. When you type snake_case it is clearly not in the line of the letters. But yeah kebab-case-might-be-easier than camelCaseToRead in the long run.

Typing is not the slow part. Reading and understanding the code is what takes most of the time, and is something that should be optimized. But '_' might be difficult to hit on non-US keyboards though.

Good to see some scientific studies on the easier_readability_of_snake_case, versusComparedToCamelCaseBouncingUpAndDown. I tried to convince my co-workers toTransitionFromCamelCase to the world_of_easy_reading_snake_case, but alas, the code

Well, have you considered that the daily smoking has made you numb to the effects, or your tolerance is so high that you don't anymore feel the effect ? I get more number to the effect also while tolerance develops, I can only imagine

Well, who knows, the legalization around the world is still relatively new, and mass markets are being tested, so when for example more of Europe legalizes cannabis also, different and more varied markets are going to come alive. But for ex

Maybe it takes some time to get to know the different strains and how they feel. I mean, I cannot tell the difference between different wines because I am not experienced in that, I can mostly say that this is shit wine and this is good win

+1 from here for CLion, and also WebStorm from JetBrains. IMO the best software development IDEs currently, VSCode is good but ultimately it feels a bit hacky compared to what JetBrains offers.

Big part of the appeal is keeping your hands on the home row all the time, without having to reach for the arrow keys. HJKL for movement makes all the difference for keeping focus on the writing, not having to reach out to the arrow keys wh

The Vim enlightenment for me, was to let go of Vim. Modern IDEs with Vim support: bless you. XCode got finally Vim -keybindings also. CLion and other IntelliJ -ides have great Vim support, VSCode also. Sometimes I still use Vim only when ed

I have to say I had the same experience with IntelliJ when developing for Android in 2013-15 or so. This year when trialing CLion I was very positively surprised by the evolution of their platform, it's easily the most usable environme

I'm happy to see that they have taken this direction. So much more clear and better than previously. Now I wish Gimp would be one of those softwares taking direction from that. Still, the whole "Gnome desktop" sounds silly.
