My guess is the second declaration overrides the first.

But if you speak professionally, you wouldn't have to write a new speech every time. Just reuse most or portions of other speeches to cut down on prep time.

Good point. I hadn't thought about getting a second ballot.

I really like this type of innovation, but I don't understand this defense against "vote buying." Can't the vote purchaser require the voter to take a picture of the completed ballot with their camera? That's a pretty easy way to verify if

I think the biggest role that a teacher plays is baby sitter. Through 12th grade, most of the class is there because they are required to be there. If you could write software that sends kids to detention, then you might have a good repla

The willingness to pay questions should probably have a $0 - $30 option. You might get biased responses from people who would use it, but not pay much for it.

Regarding your edit, I don't think that the Cust. Dev. proponents say that it's the only way to develop products, but on average it will help you succeed. It also seems like Twitter used some concepts that CD also suggests. With such a si

I swam for a D-III school and our coach insisted on a long cool down after every swim meet. It was just ingrained in me that if I didn't do a cool down that I would have built up lactic acid or something that would make me stiff and unable

There's FiveSecondTest ( http://www.fivesecondtest.com/ ) that shows an image of your website for five seconds and asks users for their feedback. Not enough time for users to read all the text, but it's good at seeing if your general point

I had mixed results with a small sample of about 100 paid clicks. Compared to AdSense, Facebook had 2X the percentage of users who signed up for a free account. However, it had only half as many goal conversions, where the goal was simply

Conservation of energy hasn't changed in 40 years. The force of the impact has to go somewhere, and consumers don't want to pay for a Titanium car. The driver looked like he was in pretty good condition.

The original article used the word developer, so I just used engineer to refer to the other type of profession. I wasn't trying to suggest anything, just being more concise while writing a comment.

Sort of, but engineering is more measurable. If you can reduce a component's defect rate, then the company will likely go with your new idea. If you can't reduce a defect rate, then you won't have any lingering feelings that your way woul

I think YCombinator is a solution to that problem. They're profiting by finding talented people that are unhappy working for someone else.

It also sounds like you're describing the Odeo->Twitter transition. There's been a lot written about that, so reading some of those articles might answer your questions.

Awesome, can't wait until it comes out. I love my N800, and I've been using it to manage lists for my GTD routine. It kind of sucks to also have to carry a phone though. It should be a great alternative to the iPhone.

Like others, I'm not really going to answer the question you asked, but instead offer unsolicited advice on the decision you've made. Being at home doing nothing is fun, but realize that you'll be at home working your ass off. If it was th
