Seems like it'd be a pretty huge oversight if that vector were open, but I agree with you that it's not very confidence-inspiring if nothing about this is out there.

I am not a security expert, but my understanding is that the main problems for the FBI are: a) There is a timed delay for trying new passwords after enough unsuccessful attempts and b) The phone will wipe itself after 10 unsuccessful attemp

I've stayed in Downtown Manhattan several times and I haven't heard helicopter noise, but I have heard sirens and honking horns throughout the night. It didn't bother me much; I have a reasonably high noise tolerance and I pr

For how much companies are clamoring for more engineers and whining about how little talent they can get, the engineers themselves sure are told to sit down and shut up an awful lot in places like HN and these kinds of employee agreements.

I had the same thought as GP as well. Could you not implement some of the "disguise-as-honeypot" features (such as setting the name to "HoneyTrap" or "Error: rand...") in addition to the normal security feature

I wonder what would happen if the National Ad Council just started producing billboards that said things like "LEAVE FOLLOWING DISTANCE FOR FASTER TRAFFIC" and "ZIPPER MERGE IS MOST EFFICIENT".
