Banning dangerous and illegal services is fine if the providers don't clean up their act.

Securing is different to encrypting. Most tracking of people is done by advertising, and marketing companies. Should we mark all websites with advertising as insecure?

Sites with advertising should be marked as insecure. Since they have been known to serve trojans, and also are used to track people without their consent. Will Google and Mozilla both do this? No. Because their revenue depend on it.

How many processes do most users have on their desktops? Hundreds. I have 397 on my OSX laptop, and many of them are multithreaded. Firefox alone is using 61 threads. Dedicated compression/decompression threads, threads for encryption,

This might be nice for places where people can't figure out git. I hope it puts "update" as the commit message ;)

Impressive. However I think there's still plenty of room to grow. 320,000 concurrent sessions isn't that much by modern standards. You can get 12 million concurrent connections on one linux machine, and push 1gigabit of data. Also

Would this work with sub folders being synced from different machines onto a single machine? Even better, could it grab data as required from other machines?

I don't like that this gossip thread from a few years ago is at the top. People come to Hackernews for entertainment (including me), but I still don't like it. Mainly I'm here so I can learn things, and see what other people

Using both is sort of needed at the moment. Firebug for example doesn't do source maps. Also, firebug is too slow for some pages I've worked on. But of course firebug does some things better still.

Yeah. Why make people switch? Almost every app does ajax calls, so it's very useful to have that information there for almost every developer.

Seems like a legit review. Reviews make some people cry though. I think once people start using addons there's more people willing to do a review. Also, just diff'ing from a previous version is quite easy to see the changes. So fu

Framework groups are larger as a group than the many small groups that use collections of libraries. However if you add up all the smaller groups using smaller collections, maybe they are just as big or larger?

No it can't. Fusion power plants don't exist at all. Thermal solar can provide base load today. So can distributed wind power, or wind power storing in batteries.

"The primary argument against fusion power has been that despite decades of work, it still doesn’t exist" I'd bet on thermal solar, that is proven to work. Also smart energy management with wind and solar are all proven to wo

Efficient use of resources is a thing as well. Many places use their resources better, and prioritise areas like education. Education, which people pay the state for, is failing in the USA. With 49% functional illiteracy, it is a catastroph

Nicely put. I'd also argue that the divide between dynamic, and static typing systems has fallen down. Almost completely. Java/C# and even Haskell have dynamic typing. They even sort of have a scripting feel. However, you can also
