Let's say you want to use cloudflare, or another CDN. The process is pretty simple. You setup your website and preferably DON'T have it talk to anyone other than the CDN. You then point your DNS to wherever the CDN tells you to.

Death is not poverty, because you do not experience poverty. You don't live in the squalor and suffer. You are DEAD. Death is the true absence of all, not a lacking of anything.

ZFS isn't what lets you down in the ZFS stack. It is memory fragmentation due to ARC, and the ARC not responding to memory pressure correctly. I'm sure there's parts of btrfs that still suck. Don't get me wrong. And y

It isn't no rhyme or reason. The issue has to do with layering caches over each other. If you layer caches over each other and they don't pass hit rates to each other bad things happen, especially for designs like ARC. The ZFS c

Reason number 543895 why I like small company life: When you find shit like this, people will go "my bad" at the worst, and you all are happy the company has more money. Small teams and small firms have their downside, but honest

BTRFS is not as bad as it was. People often forget all the edge conditions ZFS has also. (Of which I got caught by many in my day.) That said, BTRFS is also not the rampant layering violation that ZFS is, for the good and the bad of that

I fail at #5. Most all the coding I do is for the firm I work for, occasionally some of it escapes to the open source world if I can convince some manager to let it. At the end of the day, if I've wrung out all I got, that's all t

If he knew the woman was married, he shares in that blame. At some point you know you are pushing someone else into doing something wrong, so you share that blame. This is how the crime of "Solicitation of Murder" came to be.

Then your company should have stayed on prem. If you are paying the price of being on prem, which is really lack of ability to provision and de-provision infra quickly. There's little point to the cloud, unless you just have no infra

And when your comcast link dies, GG man. Oh, what about when you drop a drive? Yes, you have to learn things to goto the cloud, and I won't say it is all roses, it ain't. But... AWS is less likely to fsck it up. If you have the

More a realist. If you have the scale to go on prem. Do it. Most firms don't. Or don't have the skills. Also, the cloud can help an IT project recover from errors. Let's say, I'm about to buy 500k of hardware to setu

For most orgs: AWS is not overcharging IMHO. When you look at the cost of the hardware + hosting. Yes, it certainly looks and feels that way. But if you've dealt with corporate IT, and had to deal with 3-6 month lead times on getting

Basic control theory will work better than AI here. The mathematical models used in control theory have been used in computing since at least the 50's (Kalman Filters). I suspect you won't have issues with computational power. F

You think critics are objective? You think they want to pan the people handing them early review codes TOO hard given that it is how they make a living? Often critics have little time to review a game, a few hours, etc... they have a ton of

Some of us saw what was going to happen with D4. It was pretty obvious. After DI, and D3, to expect D4 to launch in any decent state would have been naive at best. I've said as much in the Diablo subreddit. D3 is now a good game, if

I've used NeoVim, I was a long time emacs user in the 90's. Etc. Honestly: I use Jetbrains IDEs now. It is worth having the little integrated tools, like the debugger, etc. I have a nice NeoVim setup but it gets used less and le
