I hope Zig adds complex numbers before it is too late. It's a pity that they did not steal array syntax and slices from Fortran/Numpy.

Nope same for me with intel drivers. Intel update utility recommends one, installs it. Leave computer idle windows rolls it back in the night to a driver from 2021.

I am in that group you mentioned and this is not even a bad take. They might have been trying to imply ROS but that's also a very much not a well-targeted criticism either. Robotics is not bunch of humanoids moving their attached manip

It is sad to see that IEEE is becoming the discovery channel of engineering.

Scipy maintainer here. Numpy has no fortran code on itself and uses lapack lite written in C. Scipy has 10% of its codebase with very old F77 libraries that we are removing slowly. Nothing against fortran but this is slowly turning into a u

I am also a very avid C++ avoider but if I am in a meeting with this author and they tell me we need to use C++ for something, I'll take it. Because I trust pain more than smarts. And I do agree that we are coming to a point there will

I would argue otherwise. I have absolutely zero negotiation power. In the past there was more. See Apple-Epic saga or multiple reports that show Amazon manufacture popular products clones and pushing the original manufacturer down in the se

You can switch to a different location and continue business, should a conflict arises with a landlord in a mall. With Amazon, if you have a conflict, you are done. You cannot come back to the mall. And there is a single (or very few malls)

Your contribution is not the storage of your tweets. You can delete them one by one or with API but it won't make any difference at this point. And you need to repost it somewhere. You have contributed to keep the platform relevant. So

Whatever you get out for your own self is a secondary by-product. You are bounded to that platform to get what you get and cannot leave by taking what you already contributed. While you are benefiting from certain social returns, you are al

Still unapologetically using rocketmail address as my burner email. After gmail, proton, fastmail nothing beats the nostalgia and the let down I felt when yahoo bought and destroyed it.

I guess it is a rite of passage to rewrite it. I'm doing it for SciPy too together with Propack in [1]. Somebody already mentioned your repo. Thank you for your efforts. [1]: https://github.com/scipy/scipy/iss

Control theorist here. The articles are pretty good. There is nothing wrong with them. What you are insinuating is not always correct that if you model stuff you'll get a better result. Sometimes PID is more then enough and in fact bet

I have rather unorthodox view on this subject, I would already concede defeat if you object to it. However, to criminally box my view into a few sentences, we should start cleaning up our undergrad curriculum from root loci, routh hurwitz,

I have worked heavily on SOS and LMI based methods in general, IQCs to be precise. Sum-of-squares are so stupidly explosive in the size of required conditions, (pretty much impossible to do anything more than 5-6 parameters), you can play a

Other than the original reference implementation, you would not find any other fortran version of BLAS anymore. And nobody links to the reference for performance code. All written in either close to metal C with SIMD etc. or straight in ass
