I think FOMO and the first two items in your list may be the same thing. People fear missing out on the latest thing that everyone else is doing.

I don't think the word "conscious" is generally used in a way that is the least bit scientific. So that's the first problem. Here you combine "self-aware" with "awake" or "stream of experience&qu

This doesn't add up to me. The majority of scientists really thought that animals didn't feel or experience things? That can't be true for scientists that actually observed animals. I can see how there might some type of conf

The new Freenet is different from the old Freenet. And people will not necessarily know which one you are talking about.

Has anyone runs evaluations to compare the instruct version with gpt-4o or llama3-70b etc.? It's so much larger than the leading open source models. So one would hope it would perform significantly better? Or is this in one of the chat

Kind of a ridiculous approach, especially for this model. Use together.ai, fireworks.ai, RunPod serverless, any serverless. Or use ollama with the default quantization, will work on many home computers, including my gaming laptop which is a

I suspect that this is a compute tradeoff they decided to make. Uses much less compute than SORA, so feasible to scale up for the public, but that much less coherent. If you look at OpenAI's technical report for SORA they show examples

I wonder if this is doing basically the same thing as SORA/Kling, but with less compute/model size. It kind of reminds me of OpenAI's examples from their technical report: https://openai.com/index/video-g

I did a little bit of testing. It definitely needs to be fine-tuned with more images of humans so that it understands basic anatomy better. But for the prompts I actually tried, the speed and prompt adherence was a significant step up. The

Maybe this is a dumb question, but in order to pass, is the program or model only allowed to use the 400 training tasks? I assume it is allowed to train on other data, just not the actual public test tasks? Things like SORA and gpt-4o that

When does this roll out exactly? And exactly which inference actually is on-device? I think people have been fooled by marketing for this one and the new Co-Pilot PCs into thinking that most of the AI really is running on-device. The models

I have been testing out LLMs with the together.ai API, but I can't figure out how to use the multimodal models with the API. I don't see any in their model list.

Looks like terrific technology. However, the translation says that it's an "irrevocable revocable" non-commercial license with a form to apply for commercial use.

Right and I guess everyone forgot that there was a panic about GPT-5 taking over the world or something and Altman publicly declared they would not be released GPT-5 soon. So that is why the name changed maybe.

I believe that gpt-4o was really gpt-5, just renamed, and the multimodal stuff they demoed will actually be released within a month.
