It's hard to believe some of the projects in biotechnology and energy will only require $100K to be built. These things cost more than a laptop and pizza. These kids are certainly enthusiastic, but why not spend some more time learning abou

Ouch. Really sorry about that. Wish i could delete it. I would also add any paper by David Deutsch on quantum communication like this: http://xxx.lanl.gov/pdf/quant-ph/9906007v2

No, no and no. Games like mob wars, farm town etc had these features already. If they pioneered something, it's "pushing facebook's communication channels to their limits"; I honestly cannot remember anything else.

I hate analogies, but i have to note that McDonalds invented the fastfood business. Zynga has shown inability to demonstrate innovation and acts opportunistically. If they shut down today, they 'd be instantly replaced by other existing soc

As an indie fb game developer, i 've been following zynga over the years. Their spam tactics were the reason that facebook started changing their platform policies every month. Zynga took advantage of the fact that facebook at the time was

The only innovation zynga did was changing the logos of other games (Farmville=Farm town, mafia wars=mobwars, cafe world=restaurant city, it's as if there's mass brain damage in that company and they can't come up with a single original ide

I 'd actually bet their profitability is even higher than that. You have no idea how much revenue these games generate, and we 're talking about massive user base. Just consider the fact that they have foregone display advertising in their

But what about long-term value? It may hit tens of billions the first day, but what happens in a few months?

I think it's called World Wide Web. We should memorialize Tim Berners Lee's computer instead.

The thing with Zynga, is they have zero innovation and zero IP capital. You might as well invest in a chinese ripoff and it would be the same. Sure they make tons of profits but they will never earn my respect. They stole everyone else's id

Intelligence and strong entitlement don't match. Show me a real genius who has strong sense of entitlement. Salesmen have it. Certainly PG doesn't have it.

I especially disagree with his/her views on Europeans. If anything, we are more sensitive on those matters than the US, that's why the world's dissidents seek refuge here.

Amen to that. I wonder how long we have to wait for the w3c to create APIs for all sorts of device capabilities, like camera, compass etc. Open standards FTW.

That's only true at a macroscopic level, though. If one wants to predict exact states of the universe, the complexity is proportional to the entropy of the universe.
