It frustrates me when people bring out the "it depends" card and because then you can't condemn anything. I condemn TV, as it is a waste of time for most people. More importantly, it is a waste of headspace and mental energy.

Good. A precursor to banning crypto itself, I hope. The government SHOULD have a monopoly on certain things, like lethal force (armies), and issuance of currency, because total chaos and anarchy would happen otherwise.

I've had the pleasure of working with the Tink API, along with their competitors like TrueLayer and Nordigen. This space is heating up really fast, and bank APIs are getting funded and gobbled up left and right. Tink's console, we

If you prefer Airtable to Sheets, try Fintable. No additional tools needed (Zapier), you get an Airtable base with an archive of your transactions and an easy API to query. With options for connecting via Plaid OR Finicity as some banks don

Very interesting, I did the same for myself, although everything was synced to Airtable instead of YNAB. Ended up becoming a full-fledged startup (Fintable.io) after people threw money at me to get access to the private beta.

I take an "aggregator approach" and I have used multiple APIs like Plaid, Finicity, SaltEdge and TrueLayer at my startup. In my opinion: all are far from perfect, though Plaid is moving in the right direction. Finicity is currentl

To prevent new users from potentially losing access to the service later on. Why would you sell a mission critical service to a customer you know you cannot support?

You might want to try Actualbudget.com which has local native apps and the option for E2E encryption, but does not automatically import transactions (though I believe CSV import is supported).

If you're with the big US banks (Chase, US Bank, Capital One, and others) they provide OAuth connections which, if implemented correctly by finance apps, don't require bank ID and password, and have legal agreements enforced with

Tech startup recognizes basic modern advances that have been made in the past 3 centuries, after realizing it provides a competitive advantage due to regulatory capture (small upstarts can't afford to pay workers as workers).

A slight diplomatic difference in tactics to achieve the same effect. I'm sure they would've ratcheted up the tactics and eventually sent fighter jets if closing the airspace failed to achieve what they wanted.

It doesn't have to be Antartica, although that's a bit of an extreme example. Plenty of people I know have "lost it", albeit to a less extreme degree, after just a few years of culture shock, after moving to a different

I can't find the interview now, but I distinctly remember someone at Apple saying that Cocoa apps benefit from hardware-level optimizations of common Objective C operations in the M1.

X cores + X gigs of RAM does not mean better performance for higher values of X. That is the fundamental innovation of Apple Silicon, which people still struggle to grasp. The M1 upended how we think about CPU performance. It's not eve

Apple Silicon is NOT just an ARM CPU. It's also a deep integration with macOS, and a unified memory architecture (less unnecessary copying on the bus). For example on the M1, certain very common operations for macOS apps, like freeing
