Multiple windows with <= 14 tabs/window. I don't push 200, but 80 isn't rare for me (going by TooManyTabs extension count). IME, Firefox slows down much faster than Chrome when browsing this way (on Win7-64 w/ 4-8GB of RAM).

Couple questions: 1) What differentiates steerway from http://android.stackexchange.com/ ? 2) Why is /collections included in the nav if it's NYI?

More room for vulnerabilities, less consistent user experience, and all the other annoyances Flash and Java applets bring to the table. Sounds great.

Boolean operators for on-page text finding. E.g., being able to search for "goose|geese", since the pluralization doesn't involve a common root.

I have not found ack[0] to be a drop-in replacement for grep, even when dealing with code. However, you may find it worth investigating. [0] http://betterthangrep.com/

Don't try to constrain me with your personal measure of temporal granularity, man! Time is a continuous domain, so they don't really go one anything at a time. (Well, unless physiology is shown to have some kind of fundamental clock period.

Diablo II's levels provided more than just stat boosts: there were skill points, and likely changes in level-based mechanics underlying damage taken by player characters. D2's uniques and runewords were more common and reliably useful than

The author doesn't mention that buying from companies¹ perceived as evil incurs an $I cost. In the same fashion one wants to support indie devs, there's resistance to feeding the beast responsible for bad market direction. It's basically a

Agreed. 1) I'm not sure what made Apple feel that their video codec warranted a home in the control panel. I don't forgive DivX for this, either. 2) They put their personal aesthetic before usability in a big way. E.g., iTunes was unusably

It feels like the author is giving Apple an undue free pass. He mentions Microsoft and Yahoo as other companies who've failed him with bad releases, and the subtext seems to be that Apple hasn't done significant wrong. To do so conveniently

Here's a gross oversimplification showing the possibility (not actuality) of something like this's occurrence. 1) Suppose the government sponsors $100 out of every student's $103 tuition. 2) Suppose that $3 of that $103 tuition goes towards
