That is a possibility. But the issue with that is complexity.

FM is no more complicated than AM to transmit and receive. Simple FM discriminators for receivers like pulse counters only require a few components. On the transmit side, it's a lot easier getting decent high power modulation on an FM

They are one and another when it comes to broadcast. Tied in unison until they are dead. As for the LF/MF/HF propagation modes, they are terribly unpredictable as anything other than line of sight. Groundwave <3MHz and lower,

This is a good thing. AM needs to go. It's the least efficient way of transmitting audio. From a technical perspective 2/3 of the power of an AM transmission is wasted with the carrier and that has no information in it at all. If

I'm not sure why everyone defaults to dystopia. Just move things around so people don't have to sit in traffic or commute for 4 hours a day.

My father's model S (2016) has that and it goes off randomly when he's driving up the road so I suppose that it is possible that it doesn't go off randomly as well.

Most of the other cars tend not to have systems which are marketed at preventing this. I mean I can drive through a wall with my car quite happily lol

Ok no it’s really good when you’re there. Just stay away from new services and make sure the investor is paying the bill. Oh and bag all the certs for when the company goes down the shitter.

They did. Just not in aerospace until the mid 1960s when decent quality fibreglass (FR4) boards were available. The previous SRBP and Bakelite boards were fragile and/or hygroscopic.

It’s definitely fear based on the crap I’ve heard. “Why would I buy a radio from communists. It’s probably bugged” I facepalmed so hard I nearly imploded my skull on that.

It’s probably ok if it’s a couple of years old. All AWS stuff is initially buggy as hell. You have to complain for a year at your account manager to go and beat the teams with a stick. I’ve sat there and broken nearly every AWS product in f

Honestly the Baofeng is mostly fine. Just use it. 90% of it is elitism. The harmonic suppression of the transmitter is crap which is the issue but the radiated power is constrained by the antenna so not usually a problem unless you’re testi

No you can’t. You can only frequencies within the allocated spectrum for amateur radio. And it must be for the specific purpose of emergency comms. And that’s not universally true everywhere.

This is basically how I operate most of the time. I ssh from my laptop to a bastion jump node and then ssh to my instance in EC2 where I do all my work in tmux and vim. It's cheap, reliable, easy and it works like it did 20 years ago s
