I agree, could not watch it past 3 mins - too many editing gimmicks, looks like edutainment nonsense with many fluffy short statements and low actual information density. This video editing talent is wasted for such a topic, would be better

the usual speedup with sse/avx is in about that 2.5 range from what i've observed. If it's lower, then there are likely other effects that stall the execution, like cache misses and other data logistic ineffieciency. The fft

Early digital cameras were worse in almost every way, picture resolution, noise, color. The only thing they had going for them was that you could quickly look at the pictures on a computer screen and didn't need to buy film rolls. It t

One reason might be that the mentioned genres are highly formulaic to begin with. The standard rap song contains about 2 bars of unique music stretched out over 3 minutes with slight variations. Same with dubstep and techno. All highly repe

The RISC-V seems to have it's focus on being open and being simple, not so much on being the fastest. The specs are only 130 pages. https://riscv.org/risc-v-foundation/ https://riscv.org/specificat

No problem, if i would be in a situation where it's constantly in my peripheral view, i would talk to you. Would you refuse, i would not start a fight, but just look for another place or another way to block the view for myself. If i w

It was just visual pollution for the people not using the computer. A public disservice. Would you like it, if i walked around and shine a flashlight randomly into your face? It however also was a good way to separate polite people from the

The examples look really nice, and i dont mind the loading time, but the interface feels really sluggish, with delays around 150 - 250 ms - no fun to use. It also uses a full cpu core for a while on any interaction. This is on some 5 year o

It's no surprise that linux is by far the best development system for everything, since it is not a consumer product, but a collaborative meta tool.

One way to learn to program is the urge to teach the machine some principle you might find nice to be realised by a machine. Some things are opposed to entropy, some things are there to create order (always with a net gain in entropy, but n

I agree, especially industrial sugar is bad food, and artificial sweeteners and sugar substitutes are even worse. Sugar and its derivatives are massively overused in todays cheaply processed food chains.

First, it's an enourmous waste of computing resources. Second, it doesn't even work, since the 'setinterval' is unusable for audio timing. Third, what's there to show off? So Javascript got a 'PlayWav' fun

Unenjoyable, even as a gimmick, since the timing is all over the place. Either get timing right, or don't do a drum machine. Also this wastes resources like mad. What's the point of this?

Yes, i somehow had the impression that ps4 used opengl, but they use some own cooked gl fork. So my point is more about pc games i guess, since opengl runs on all major oses. The only reason for d3d seems to be the xbox.
