To some extent, solitary confinement is way, way worse than death sentence. It is burying people alive. It's a miracle a person can survive for so long and walk out of it in one piece. I imagine the psychological scars must be pretty p

In the area where I come from (Wielkopolska) czaj is a commonly known word for a "strong tea-like infusion". It's not prison slang at all, but of course there might be regional differences in the usage of this word.

Well, I guess there is a difference between what your company as a whole believes in, and what 20 criminals disguised as employees do...

Yet in Polish the word "czaj" also exists and it means a very strong tea. Herbata seems to come from Latin, as it relates to herbs.

Totally agree. This is a field I'd like to explore and see where I can help improving it. Also, everything that has to do with food is tangible and understandable by every single person in this world.

You can disable those. The thing is: smartphones are more than dumb boxes that listen to you all the time. So you don't want to remove them completely from your life, yet still want to keep your privacy.

Only you can know if you want to do it or not. But at least when you are with your family or alone at home, you know you are not being spied on (at least not knowingly / voluntarily).

Maybe people need an alternative that is as good, yet not spying on you? A device that won't ever record anything permanently, that won't ever call home / to the cloud. I don't think we can revert the trend, but maybe at

It makes me so, so angry that people would put a big brother in their homes VOLUNTARILY! A device that records you and sends the data to a corporation! In 1984 people were freakin' forced to have one. In 2017 people WANT to have one. S

Sure, but the Netherlands being such a small country doesn't have the "need" for higher speed limits. I know the same holds true in Switzerland, where crossing the country basically takes a 3-hour drive, so there is not much

Yes, I meant prosecute, it is a false friend. In other languages, like Spanish, "perseguir" could be translated to both, but in this context, you are absolutely right that I wanted to use "prosecute" :)

I agree that driving on a German highway is a stressful experience. Especially since there is not so many highways with more than 2 lanes, occasionally changing to 3 lanes. On a highway with no speed limit and only 2 lanes, the difference b

What is ridiculous is that in many European countries speed limits haven't changed since the 70's, when cars used to be a lot less safe and driving education was a joke as compared with today's standards. You can see that thi

That's the German approach actually. There is no speed limit on some of the highways, yet the recommended speed is 130 km/h.

I guess that one reason bootstrapping is so tough is that it requires a lot of time, usually years, to even start to imagine one day living off of your company. Imagine you have this nice business idea, which you have been working on for co
