Well, not necessarily. The linker will strip out any symbols that aren't actually used, which may indeed be a non-inconsequential chunk of fish's bundled dependencies.

I think it is obligatory here to mention that judges tend to hand out more lenient sentences right after lunch[1]. The justice system is quite sensitive to things like this, and frankly I'm surprised that jurors are ever allowed to dri

The passenger didn't unreasonably escalate. If the airline screws up, they need to pay the price. And physically harming the customer crossed several lines. Also, it looks like United violated their own rules: https://www.un

Page isn't loading, but that's a pity if true :( I ended up dropping desktop Linux entirely last year, but Unity was the only thing that I thought wasn't matched by any other desktop operating system.

The big problem is that rpcgen is hairy and not reeeeeeally portable (in my experience, if there's a feature you want, it's not supported on your Unix). XDR is nice, though, apart from being big-endian and not having widely-suppor

I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere. I'm used to dealing with large animals killed by coyotes, old age, and butchering. But I don't like your attitude towards death. You might not care about snakes and frogs and such. Tha

I mean, not to be flippant, but... that's just like your opinion. Of course not anybody can make a well-performing web app, just like not just anybody can make a well performing Android app. In some ways, yes, it is a little more dif

New software. The version of FXOS that came with the Flame (1.0) was... not good at all. 1.1 and 1.2 added some niceties that started to make it usable as a daily driver phone; 1.3 added async pan and made things feel slick; and 2.0+ were j

"Unadulterated original x86" doesn't really exist, and hasn't mattered for decades at least. Do you mean the 8086's instruction set? Many of those instructions are now implemented in microcode; sure, you can use the

That "consistent abstract interface" is called PostScript. The last printer I bought was a Xerox PostScript printer, and with a few minor caveats, it's been lovely not having to putz with drivers.

I think almost all non-lawyers want to export to Cuba. The problem is that until the US government stops the embargo, US-based companies are often loathe to contract with companies that offer services to Cuba.
