Wow, I had no idea about that movie. The trailer and its popularity really makes it clear they are mentally preparing their population for war with the US in a big way.

Ok will do. There's not a lot of context you can give while flagging something though (zero), so it seems easy to be misinterpreted by mods as being flagged for some other reason than that I thought it was off-topic.

is BI paying for HN adbots now? or is this an attempt by the bot to engage normally so it won't trigger flags when it serves its real purpose?

I kind of agree with this article, but it's also sort of a hilarious repeat of the infamous one on the original dropbox HN post https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9224

Love this. As someone primarily from a web background I've been getting into binaries and low-end dev with minimal dependencies lately (basically a foreign concept a front-end native like me). It's really nice having something tha

Really? It's legal? Would that mean someone running a torrent site should move their operation to switzerland to avoid getting prison time?

That's a funny one since Huel and Soylent kinda came about because of the 1920s meme idea that pills would replace meals in the future. A lot of these might just be self fulfilling prophecies.

This is probably true but it's quite an angry response to the linked article which is mostly just a joke.

I almost feel as if they have like 100k actual pages that they present (and have looked through manually) and if it's not in that group they just show you the closest one (or say "no results").

Just today I googled "torch normalize -1 1" and it said "zero documents matches your query". Insane stuff. (Censorship with crazy high false positives? Incompetence?) I went to duckduckgo and immediately found a useful a

Despite the headline, inside the actual article they admit that it wasn't really for uncensoring that he got arrested, but for copyright violation (as well as basically displaying porn in a country where porn is illegal).

This has to be some kind of wasm construction right? I've hardly ever seen such a smooth but rich experience on web.

It would be funny if he's just a normal engineer somewhere who did this as a quick side project and won't come out as the creator because he's too embarrassed that he lost the keys.

Successfully boostrapping a decent SaaS sounds way more challenging in my eyes, got any tips on resources to read to make that be as obvious a task as it seems to be in your eyes?

Look at the scrolling on that site. What a beauty. No intercom chat robot popping up, no distracting ads, no pop up asking you to fill in your mail for yet another newsletter you won't engage with. Wonderful to see.

Both seem like such weird products to me. As soon as you build something that people would find useful the thing becomes unusable with a 10 day queue since apps are only granted CPU resources. The only reason I see for the flood of people m

In my eyes this kind of feels like another sign that things have stagnated in tech (on the fundamental innovations front, not the 'people are doing things' front). There was a massive explosion of thing happening a decade ago but
