Ah! I read the parent's post as sarcastic. But you are right, a little delay can be good.

Fortunately you can use animation-delay to simulate bloated Javascript.

Cyberbunker left the bunker around 2003 and the hosting provider (Bunkerinfra) who housed it afterward filed bankruptcy in 2015. So there is nothing dangerous about that bunker shown in the movie.

True. But because as today it's easier to implement doesn't mean we won't have aircraft with flapping wings in the future.

Well I asked because lets say queuing does not occur, then you might want to design a system that can send and receive messages in without queue.

Does queuing occur when cells communicate?

I might be wrong, but I think people like Alan Kay and Christopher Alexander have in common that they: * see that things can be done better (not as in upgrade but best); * have a global idea/feeling of how this could be done;

I don't think this is going to be mainstream very soon because these multi rotors can only fly for a few minutes. Right now batteries are way too heavy. And combustion engines can't alter speed that quick.

I commented on this related to a blind programmer: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11887301 Eric Schmidt is wrong.

Some weeks ago Elon Musk said that he thinks that Apple is a bigger competitor than Google but that Apple is coming (too) late to the show. Elon also said the car market is huge, very huge. So Tesla and Apple are just small compared to othe

Aren't the main reasons everything went centralized: bandwidth and reliability? Maybe this can be solved with good caching. But what you don't want is your site / post going viral which will bring down your internet connectio

I always start out with a simple raytracer / path tracer (spheres only). It's always nice to see visuals appear (in a file or on screen). It's like a compliment for the work done. And you will learn a lot of basic stuff like

I agree that greed is a world wide problem. But even when we trade in goods services and coins it doesn't change the fact that a lot of people are greedy. This is on HN because this story is interesting from a technical point of view.

Does this work the same as it does with waves on the ocean? The waves on the ocean are also turbulent distortions by the wind which pack together was waves (a group of 14 waves with the 7th as the highest and all waves after the 7th barely

It's already possible for everybody to host his own mail server. But we choose to let Google host all our conversations. So the problem is more social.

I think this is another reason why privacy is important. Sometimes you need to hide something. Not because you are doing something illigal but just for personal reasons. $10k is quite good in the rest of the world by the way ;) Good luck!

It's a kind of funny those images look nice on high res screens. Some time ago I experimented with 16-32 color images on websites. Because of high res screens they look great but save a lot of data.

I feel the opposite: I also feel tiny but relevant because in this huge space we are (as far as we know it) the only form of life.

Most cars from Volvo and Mercedes can drive at least 300,000 miles (500,000 km) so 70k is nothing. But on the other hand suspension problems like this are also nothing. Drive into a hole hard enough and something breaks. Just happens.

Isn't the real story here that Bing is keeping track of user's search queries for months? Google Flu is working different. They try to predict a flu epidemic by counting related search queries. But Microsoft is predicting the heal

IDEs can also mess with comments because they don't parse it as code. A simple extra linebreak added and your code breaks.

But programming with comments is bad practice. Maybe in this case it doesn't matter very much but there are a lot of ways comments can get lost or messed up.

I think this is the only model for Whatsapp. They know who is talking to who. They don't know what you are talking about but that doesn't matter when one or two persons in a group show some interest in a subject.
