Sometimes this can be done by simply trowing them in a funnel and let slots of different sizes sort them. Just like those coin sorting machines. But in your case a sorting conveyor belt could be the easiest way. The right items are pushed o

After watching this and a Volvo movie I wonder what happens when you touch the steering wheel when you are in autopilot mode. It's nice that you can check your mail or read a news paper in autopilot mode as advertised but doesn't

What also helps a lot is to keep in mind that classes are for classifications (categories) and id's for identifications (unique). I see a lot of people using classes to create unique styles for specific elements. This will make a mess

Somehow I think the foreword of Christopher Alexander is very emotional. I cannot express why. To me the key is joy. The joy of writing, maintaining and using software.

Doesn't this create a risk of committing fraud and identity theft in some countries? I can understand it wouldn't be a crime to create a random email address but creating a fake house address and using this for payments sounds a l

In the mean time Carbon ( http://carbon3d.com/ ) has also 'reinvented' 3D printing but can show a working model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2thSsQrZUM I think Carbon will change 3D printing be

End to end encryption means from the moment you press send to the moment the receiver views the message. So they could listen to the keyboard and the screen to 'read' the message before it is sent. Nothing new here.

A lot of cultures are telling stories of people over 200 years old. It's remarkable that those stories have some things in common. For example live span decreases after a 'big flood' or another big event. So some people think

I had to think about the database design of ProcessWire (PHP CMS). It uses one table for identifiers and field tables for all data connected to the identifier. To store a user with a username, a password and an email address it uses 3 table

Do you know what tables in your DB need indexes and why? Do you know how to optimally set up your partitions? Do you know why your one query runs fast for a week and then suddenly runs slow, and what you can do about it? Yes. And I'm
