I don't think this is going to be mainstream very soon because these multi rotors can only fly for a few minutes.
Right now batteries are way too heavy. And combustion engines can't alter speed that quick.
- stcredzero 10y agoWhat of fuel cell vehicles or series hybrids? You'd still have electric motors, but with a more potent power source.
- FabHK 10y agoYes, batteries don't have the energy density of petrol yet, but they're improving. Also, hybrids are an option, with a combustion engine (running at optimal speed throughout) driving a generator recharging a battery - best of both worlds, potentially.
