Ungrounded (floating) switching power supplies can emit a lot of high frequency noise. Unfortunately this is the majority of PSUs these days.

Apple have to maintain a vice-like grip on their ecosystem as their approach relies on controlling the entire vertical. As more and more pressure is placed on them by the EU, the Right-to-Repair movement, big partners, etc. something has to

I concur, I work in a department of mainly MBP15's and they have a terrible reliability experience here. The most common things that go wrong are faulty displays, keyboards and overheating issues. I'd go far as to say the MBP15 ha

As a budding stargazer I hope this dark-nights idea spreads to other countries. Light pollution has the potential to get even worse with LED lighting which is no longer filterable like sodium lighting was.

It's hard to interpret what Trump is trying to gain from this deal, does he want to: o Stop the purchase altogether o Just want to stop ByteDance making money from the deal o Want to punish Microsoft o Want to get a good news story abo

The Catholic church has also claimed over $1.4bn in PPP loans too. I would find that especially galling.

I find a more extreme version of this thinking in anti-science subjects like flat earth and homeopathy. Those guys are always referencing ancient texts. Many parts of humanity stagnated for millennia - see cave systems in France and Eastern

Let's hope Microsoft can refrain from the same dirty tactics they used back in the nineties. I was a junior sysadmin/desktop support back then. Every single software update for the Microsoft Netware Client (which I think sucked on

As a European it's sad to see the decline of US soft power. Even the movie industry is in deep trouble. It seems to be one of the most polarised countries in the world. The gap between the haves and have nots just gets larger and large

I can't agree more. I have had the same setup for over 10 years, a PC in the garage running Ubuntu with lots of ram. I just upgrade it every so often with last-gen CPU and motherboard and swap-in the RAID controller. I script all of my

I think confirmation bias has a lot to do with it. Some people stress that they have invested in the "right" product. They need to feel justified in their choice and it drives these crazy positions on CPU/GPU/Motherboard

Istio solves lots of problems (pod-to-pod encryption, telemetry, etc). It also enables lots of functionality when it comes to CD. It enables things like canary releases, testing, rollback etc etc in a simpler way by keeping it in the Kubern
