By that reasoning, everything I will ever create is a derivative work. Which philosophically might stand up to scrutiny, but hopefully doesn't make me a walking infringement.

No, I'm not imagining it as a website. An API is literally just a table of contents. meat.beef .. BeefAndPotatos .. BeefAndCabbage fish.cod .. CodWithPeas .. CodWithChips This is literally an exact representation of what an API looks l

If I'd publish a cookbook with the same chapters and recipe names as a different cookbook, but every recipe my own creation from scratch; I wouldn't consider that copyright infringement.

Indeed. This was bad representation to the point that I'm wondering if it was intentional. Google might have recently realized that, as a monopoly, fighting for API freedom perhaps isn't in their best interest.

I recently started developing my own chips and put them on all my desktops. Thinly sliced potato, hot oil, a bit of salt… Delicious. Seriously though, some people just don't like Apple and they make a lot of noise about it.

I find car owners higly intrusive, driving huge, noisy, polluting machines and demanding I provide them with expensive, highly disrupting infrastructure. Cultural difference, I guess.

An electrician working at a Radar station here in Iceland ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hofn_Air_Station ) was stuck there overnight during a snow storm. For some reason he decided to stay in the radar room, probably s

Make a web framework that renders the UI entirely as mapped images. A PNG would probably be faster to load and render than most of today's multi-megabyte JS monstrosities.

But Eclipse and all other java software is amazingly fast. It's just IntelliJ that's really slow. I can't see how that can be blamed on "the java implementation"? But is it a fact that the macOS Java implementation

Well, my two primary tools are Xcode and Eclipse. Xcode is native but Eclipse is much, much faster. I doubt appliction performance has much to do with the language they're written in.

If IntelliJ can't handle realtime rendering of text on modern hardware, perhaps the problem is with the software? My kid spilled a glass of water on my 2018 MacBook last year ( sob ). At that time, word was out about the 2019 MacBooks

What data are you talking about? They're explicitly doing this to prevent the ad companies (Google and Facebook) from collecting data. What data is Apple collecting?
