I think it'll end when the Russian populace is squeezed hard and turns on the government. Forces will be withdrawn from Ukraine to deal with civil issues. A bloody military coup will occur, supported by sympathetic members. New governm

I have known a few people who have that same mentality and it's either they are fatalists or believe they will have some sort of tactical superiority if it did happen. The former is sad and the latter is stupid.

I wonder if this is why MasterCard went down for several hours in the UK today?

Yeah I do a lot of walking and long trips. I had a mid range DSLR and it was horrible carrying it everywhere and juggling lenses and batteries. The iPhone works 90% of the cases perfectly and the last 10% of the cases, I am happy with the c

Absolutely for amateur and enthusiast level usage. 90% of a decent photograph isn't the camera but the photographer and the post processing.

Yeah 13 Pro here. I sold my DSLR last year. I don't need it any more and I hated carrying it around everywhere.

I'm mostly interested in Apple selling one because the LG warranty and service support here (UK) is absolutely dire.

I have gone one step past that. The really wide monitor gave me a neck ache as I'd persistently find myself wedging stuff at one end. It was also 1440p which is crap. I now have a single 27" 4k monitor which has better text render

Yes all the time as a user. It died a little bit over COVID but has picked up again now. I actually have 2-3 events scheduled a week local to me in UK that I actually go to.

I think the difference here is Microsoft's client security story has been universally a hellscape so no one trusts it.

Doesn't really matter if it's legal or not. As we've seen from every other war, the rules go out of the window and are pretty much just for show afterwards.

I don’t think it’s that. I’ve been working remotely for nearly a decade now and the real problems were there before: competence and reachability. Competence, or lack thereof is easier to hide or write off now. People aren’t always reactive

Yes I mean the original version of it. I'd love to watch people attempt to implement some of the stuff I pulled off with that back in the day now. Occasionally, very complex data driven page flows are required and you could nail that e

The correct answer for this stuff, and it absolutely kills me saying this, is probably something like asp.net web forms.

It's not that bad on my M1 MacBook Air to be fair. I had to do a training session which was 3h long on Teams and it ate 20% of the MBA's battery. It was horrible on the previous Intel i5 MBP though. I refused to install it on my M

A friend of mine just bought a Samsung flagship after grumbling incoherently about how Apple was evil. Within three days she returned it and went and bought an iPhone 13. That’s a fairly good reference for the experience.
