It's something you can build slowly, and it tends to stick more that way. Start by committing do doing your thing three times a week for five minutes at a time. Then five times a week. Then fifteen minutes at a time. Then an hour, and

If you'd rather do visual programming than code, blender is a great choice. You can do generative 2D using the shader node editor, or 3D with the new geometry nodes. For a code-based approach, I spent the weekend trying different permu

Do you mean can you add your own nodes? You can but you have to do it in the core code which is C++. An addon that existed before geo nodes and did similar things, animation nodes, does actually let you write free-form python in the node tr

I intend to use the prompts to learn python scripting in blender. Geometry nodes are great and I love the instant feedback, but for anything requiring iteration or recursion it can be quite cumbersome as there is no loop node yet. Alex Mart

Check out the Nodevember geometry nodes entries this year. You can accomplish quite a lot with it as it is. Also, the implementation in 3.0 is very different from the one in 2.93. https://twitter.com/search?q=%23nodevember20

It's a powerful tool and it takes time and effort to learn. I was in the same boat as you when I started, but after ~3 years of using Blender more or less daily I find the UI very intuitive and powerful. One of the nice things about ha

There's a major update coming to the geometry nodes feature in 3.0. It does a lot of the same stuff as animation nodes and even has the same lead developer.
