German engineering is a myth. Go to any store and check out whatever has the "made in germany / quality german engineering" sticker on it and amaze yourself with squiggly plastics and fake metal parts.

Money is the king. Seriously there are people that prefer their own familiar environment but a logical explanation is if you can get significantly more money elsewhere why not to go ? After all you can retire early and live wherever you wan

So let me get this straight. With Truffle i can get whatever prog lang abd compile it with Graal and either use with Graal VM or Substrate VM. And i get what ? an executable which includes only what the program needs / uses ?

Parallelism and a UI framework are such a big undertakings that it simply takes a lot of time to get them working. Hell we are stuck with Electron because there simply is not a proper alternative. For parallelism Crystal plans to do it the

A lot of people care about looks and ergonomics before performance. I am not one of them but seriously people like shiny things. Even tech users like good UI before having to use your traditional shitty gui but performant app.
