It's not exactly difficult to find? If you have the attention span of a goldfish, I suppose the time it takes to reach the demo might be a challenge but the typical hn crowd can actually read, unlike most forums :)

It's US hosted, but it's certainly used by people in many countries, what does it even mean to say it is a US site? The network makes geography meaningless. PG could host it in Sunnyvale or Singapore and none of us would notice or care. Ok

"spheres" makes a few strewn rocks sound more supernatural or alien. The article talks of high powered people and rituals, but in all likelihood it was just something utterly mundane, like trying to make cheese.

Yes, but today as I was leaving work it told me there was heavy traffic. There wasn't any way to reroute so I used google maps and this time it told me traffic was light and gave a different commute time. All happened within a minute so it

I think it's a co-incidence, for me it shows snow capped mountains, and I'm in San Francisco. We don't have mountains, or snow anywhere short of driving a few hours.

yeah, by the time I've remembered to open Google Now and slide up the cards I would very likely have realized what I might have forgotten. For me, it's only showing the local weather, which I can see out my office window. And besides, this

How can you not go crazy doing the same thing over and over? My first commercial software project was in BASIC, back on a Commodore PET, it was a billing app for a shared telex system, but there's not way on earth I'd want to be still using

How is it awesome that it told you to leave, when in fact you had already left? Shouldn't it have alerted you before you left?

People already have geocodes, it's their address. Nobody wants yet another address.

We have libc, besides the arch is probably a bad example for engineering. Maybe civil, but the wheel would seem like a better example of a fundamental engineering component. I also think you are being disingenuous to software engineering. T

It doesn't take much brain power to walk into RadioShack. And the money to be made in crime is way more than developer salaries. The new frontier for crime is bitcoin fraud.

When it's actually got a foundation in math, it stops being a racist trope and becomes a valid scientific inquiry. Sexist? Overly sensitive would be one word for it.

It took 7 hours for the thugs to reach the daily ATM maximum limit? How do you buy expensive goods with an ATM card? That sounds completely bogus to me.

There's no benefit to wasting time typing. Being a developer should assume a basic competency of typing, but anything that saves typing is a good thing.

what a dangerous precedent you are setting, PD friends acting as judge and jury. Laws change, and there are often subtleties to a law that make rash statements made by some PD friend with likely no more than a GED about "clear guilt" absurd

and if you didn't know this going into an interview, you probably had no business going in the first place. It's not a trick question, it's as much a part of quality software development to ask the right questions as it is to start hacking
