Lofi-girl helps me too, it's completely out of my traditional musical tastes but there's something in it that makes me start working. I also have to turn it off eventually though, I find I need to revert to silence after a while f

Based on the wording and the table of contents I'm pretty sure lawyers were involved in at least reviewing this open letter. A final ditch effort before the real expenses begin.

As an amateur it sounds a bit like copyright with a lien or caveat attached. They legally own it now, but can't legally use it since it was rejected and not paid for. It's not as clear cut as if I personally ripped BFG Division to

They can be used in court cases to avoid biasing the public/jury before the case is heard to completion. Depending on your perspective you may see this as protecting the assholes involved but its intent is for a balanced and impartial

Yeah JB Hi-Fi is a local retailer in Aus (guessing it's like a Best Buy but a strong focus on music CDs originally), it's probably a reference to the software the staff uses. Haven't had a chance to look over their shoulder a

I figured that came under "easy access to user metrics and data", but I did consider some kind of rhyme linking piracy to privacy but it was a little early in the day to commit that sin. It's probably worth mentioning twice a

Well browsers solved multiple other issues too: cross platform apps, updating all clients in a single place, sharing data between devices, and the most important for many developers - switching software from an ownership to a rental model,

I feel like the push to make software accessible (in a new-user, not disability, context) and intuitive has made complexity the enemy. Instead of having software that grows with the user's capability, features are hidden from the top l

I used it once with my wife to see what it was, all it seemed to be was EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC playing over various things, it was annoying. Not everything needs music. We didn't last two minutes.

Not exactly the same but I had to integrate with a payments API which required one call to an auth endpoint with user/password under HTTP basic auth to get an access token. The actual calls to calculate and execute payments used this a

I was looking for a laptop for work and decent gaming, I went with an Intel NUC. Everything pointed to Ryzen being far better in most aspects - power, weight, height, and importantly battery life - however for the price point I was looking

Makes sense to me, the thing that matters is not total money but active money. Prices go up because there is the same amount of money, but sellers expect more, and buyers are used to paying more. This can continue by having their proportion

I have heard of someone who got dressed up, walked around the block, then arrived at work (at home). And the same in the evening. Commutes can be terrible but they do serve an important role in decompressing and separating spaces in our bra
