Tried it out on the weekend and it has really nice features. I think this might be really interesting for Go developers. My current Go setup is Sublime Text 3 with GoSublime and many other plugins but I am really impressed by the feature s

As far as I see there are different clients available as options. You don't necessarily need npm but I don't know in what shape the clients are. For example the go client seems broken to me (hard coded wrong tldr-page url, no cach

The scenarios you describe can be done with JS enhanced HTML pages. No need to do this as a complete single page application requiring tons of boilerplate framework code.

Is it really that important nowadays to build webapps in pure js or abstractions of it? We read articles about how many smartphones get superslow when executing loads of JS code, how broken the development process is and how framework x tri

It is so obvious what is happening at the moment. One vendor gets "busted" for "optimizing" for a benchmark and everyone goes hysteric. Nothing really new happened here. Especially for those of us working in IT. Yes it i

That's what I really value about Go: gofmt and very good linting that embraces best practices. I know C++ is way more complex but for someone starting out it seems impossible to code in the "right (tm)" style.

Zuckerberg knows that the dislike button would many people stop from posting their trash. Perhaps the will just rename the like button to whatever fits the context best based on the posted event (probably needs to be categorized).

I love Go and I like Swift. This site shows that they are not that different for simple coding. IMHO many Apple/NextStep APIs could use some more simplicity. Right now all these Next Step APIs are pretty verbose and I'm often wond

Angular by default is not using jQuery. They have a convenience layer that is similar to the jQuery-API called jqLight. But if you use Angular in the right way you usually don't need to access the DOM with these methods.

For prototyping this is okay. But for production I try to keep bloat as low as possible. I see this as service to my customers. A fat ui framework like this adds its very own complexity and as soon as you want to go out of the crud box you

Sure. Rails: Rails is always moving fast. To keep up to date you will have to go through some migration pain from time to time. Sinatra: Nice little framework but you very probably have some redundancy with your Rails code. Also you need t
