I don't know, this still feels like hassle to go there, hand in your phone, plan accordingly as you'll spend some hours without, and go get it back later. If that happens once a year fine, but still, I'd rather just get a cas

Encrypted backups can't be deduplicated unless the encryption is flawed. There shouldn't be a way to tell that one Signal backup is somewhat related to another, unless you have the passphrase. That also means that Syncthing can&#x

I agree with you, but we're talking about a device that I'd consider keeping for 10+ years. Actually I have some Synology NAS lost somewhere that I occasionally use, and while I don't trust exposing it to the internet (never

To be fair I haven't tested mosh without tmux, I always have tmux running. So I guess the situation is that it's possible to make it work with tmux, but maybe mosh on its own doesn't support OSC52. Which for me is good enough

I think this actually works now, I use both tmux and mosh and can copy things fine. See e.g. https://gist.github.com/yudai/95b20e3da66df1b066531997f982b5...

Can you expand on which org-mode features you like for this use case? On the top of my head, among the useful features I'm familiar with, you can: * nest tasks * set deadlines * set priorities * filter ~arbitrarily * have as much conte

What do you mean by coming up? Like a deadline? For event-based things I tend to have a reminder on my calendar. If things are relatively important, you'd assign them some kind of priority; in a simple .txt file, I'd expect them t

What about formal proofs? Don't we expect LLMs to help there, in a more "blue team" role? E.g. when a mathematician talks about a "technical proof", enumerating cases in the thousands, my impression is that LLM woul

How many offers have you rejected so far? What were the amounts? When founders sell, it's rarely to end up making the same amount of money they would make if they kept ownership. And once you've sold you have no control.

Good advice! I'm on stable like 3/4 of the time, until there's some newer package version I want and that happens to be in testing, at which point I switch (using the codename as you suggest instead of Testing). If I don'

How did you figure that this was the problem? If it's easily reproducible, I guess checking `top` while downloading a large file might have given a clue, since you could have seen that you're running out of memory?

The problem with this spreadsheet task is that you don't know whether you got only 2% wrong (just rounded some numbers) or way more (e.g. did it get confused and mistook a 2023 PDF with one from 1993?), and checking things yourself is
