I think I’m in the minority here, but I understand and support this decision. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like it: this move is bad for the internet and freedom of information. However, this company is close to bankruptcy and is sitting o

You’re using logos and trademarks of various companies in the context of helping people to violate ToS. The fact that only LinkedIn has reached out so far is quite interesting. I would expect more letters.

Looks slick! One minor bug (or feature?) is that the homepage doesn’t start at the top; the center of the viewport is “Japanese green teas are […].” I can scroll to the top after it has loaded, but that seems a bit odd. This is on my iPhone

Took a quick look. So if I understand correctly, you 1) instantiate a component, which creates an object and then 2) use destructuring assignment to get e.g. the template, css, event listeners out of that object. Seems intuitive! What is no

Cool! Personally, I have set reminders to reach out to friends and family on my phone. I can therefore relate. The landing page communicates the honest intent behind this very well! If I were to use your product, I wouldn’t want to cycle th

This is really cool! Nice touch with the moving globe behind the question. Maybe create a page showing the flags and their countries the user got wrong, for reviewing purposes?

Thanks a million for this comment! It has made me realize that I have to go the extra mile to win user trust. A periodical automated e-mail export makes a lot of sense and seems like the most inclusive of options. Again, many thanks for thi

This is becoming such a nuisance. Last week I had to invest so much brain power to get around Microsoft’s dark patterns after installing an update. No, I don’t want to use Edge because it’s “safer”. No, I don’t want to redeem one month “fre

Ha, that's interesting. I'll keep this in mind. If I keep this name, I might change the logo to improve legibility. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, I appreciate the honest feedback. You're right that competing tools are very feature complete. That is one of the reasons I built Timeretain: I needed something much more minimalist. Having said that, I do get your point. Is there

That is a fair point, although I've heard many times in my circle about people who "were great" and then crashed. In general, I needed to force leisure time on myself. Timeretain helps me with this.

Thanks! A pause button is on the list. I am still thinking about how to remind people to unpause or stop. I might build opt-in notifications for this.

My day job is fun. If I don't keep myself accountable, I end up working 50-60 hour weeks and burn myself out. I needed something that would show me "in bold" that I've already done 40 hours on a Wednesday. Initially, thi

Hey, thanks for checking. I appreciate it! I built a “subtract” feature for this use case. Once you’ve stopped doing a task, you can subtract whatever minutes you felt distracted. You can enable this in settings, and set a default value. I

Interesting demo. What happens though if the device holding the private key is lost? Or Apple decides to shut down your iCloud? Is there a backup option, similar to backup codes for OTP?

This article seems in search of an audience. It discusses Manifest V3, names uBlock origin, but ends with “don’t worry, you can take your passwords with you if you switch from Chrome!” I had to chuckle from mentally constructing a character

I was fortunate enough to learn on the job from not only extremely talented, but also really friendly people. And of course some theory also helped – but the books pale in comparison.

YouTube’s current front-end is indeed unbearable. I’m nowadays exclusively using Invidious [1]. It is minimalist, fast, open source, has no ads, and most importantly, has no dark patterns. [1] https://docs.invidious.io/insta

Even if you find an existing tool to parse your web server’s logs, this will still require a time investment from your end. You’re right to conclude that that’s not your core business. I use Plausible [1] which is basically GA but respects

I get your point, but it actually increases my productivity. Some examples: I no longer have to worry about things unknowingly becoming undefined or falsey. When chaining map, filter, and reduce, I know at every step of the way what kind of

Terrific landing page. I’m probably not your target market, but I can imagine that this would do well. One remark I have is that it’s not obvious that the first gif is actually one of three. Perhaps it’s best to merge them into one so peopl

Interesting idea! I think this would indeed prove if a human published some content. However, I think the most juicy part is proving that the content was produced by a human. I can ask an AI to write a blog post, publish it manually, an

Hey, congrats on the launch. This may be clear for others, but personally I’m missing a bit more details. What precisely is “product analytics on [a] data warehouse”? Are you an Amplitude competitor? Or more of a DIY scripting alternative?

I am the same. The solution for me was forcing myself to see friends and family. I’ve literally got reminders for this in my phone. And working out, there’s no keyboard in the gym.
