Not OP, but that helped me at least, so thank you. The description of the mixnet seems a bit similar to the way Tor anonymizes where requests come. What I'm not clear on is how a voter can know that the mixnet is working correctly. I.e

I would agree, I love the structure s-expressions bring, especially using smartparens in Emacs. At the same time I really enjoy some of the deviations from pure s-expressions that Clojure has made (like hash literals, using vectors for func

That's one of the first things I noticed when I moved to the US. Not sure if it's specific to the US or maybe just the Bay Area or even just a sign of the times, but it seems like it's impossible for people to "kind of l

For me personally the regularity is definitely a plus. Especially combined with an editor like paredit or smartparens it becomes very easy to move entire sections of code around.

Very interesting. I'm curious what you'll come up with. The description also reminds me of Eve [1][2], which is itself based on Bloom [3][4]. [1] http://play.witheve.com/#/examples/quickstart.eve [2] ht

True of course, though the video does have some examples of physical comedy as well; no 7 in his list for example. Personally I love this example from Hot Stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30kUNex1cuI

There's nothing wrong with the title. It's a direct quote from the interview. Also, the article literally has "Interview with Edward Snowden" above it with a picture of him. Just because it entices you to read doesn'

I liked this quote from the article in that regard: > “This is going to be the first fighter jet produced in the thousands for a very long time,” said Richard Aboulafia, an aerospace analyst with the Teal Group. “None of this is stoppabl

Great article! I was not aware of China's need for dollars due to dollar denominated debt. One question I still have is how/why they ended up with dollar denominated debt as opposed to debt in RMB? Also, who currently holds this d

This could still be true though. There are more likely to be outliers in the large group than in the small group. However, there is a lower bound on the number (nobody makes below $0), but no upper bound. So the distribution is likely to be

Unfortunately in the event of (armed) intervention, I expect the US and Europe's reactions to be similar to the Kashoggi murder. A bit of faux outrage and then everything goes back to normal. Heck, I could even see Trump praise Xi Jinp

It's not though. For example, the hardware/software purchases in month 1 are an expenditure, but would likely be a depreciation expense over a period of time.

I think you just misinterpreted the point he's making. Yes, Python has an expression form for if, but it's a separate form. You can definitely write functional Python, but the point he makes is that Python differentiates between e

Why does the marketplace need to be decentralized? The NYSE is centralized, but that doesn't seem to inhibit trading. The EU has a carbon cap and trade system (ETS) and while there is a fair bit to criticize about it, I don't thin
